The long range forecast for Saturday’s afternoon game v KSU is for rain and wind from the remnants of the hurricane. The chance of rain drops significantly late afternoon and early evening.
If I remember correctly we still have stadium lights, so it might be prudent to delay the start of the game by a few hours.
It is far to early to make an informed decision now, but by late week that would be possible .
Hopefully the “Powers that Be” are considering options.
Go Gamecocks!!!

If the weather is too bad they will probably just cancel it since the outcome is meaningless except for our pride.

The current models show a lot of the heavy stuff well to the east. It may be gross but I wouldn't guess as of now that it will be severe or anything.
Just seems right now that it will be a "just run the damn ball" type of day.
But that's everyday.

Damn, I didn't consider a chance of cancellation. All dependent on the track of the hurricane of course. Will be an interested week here in the south.

I'd feel much worse about this game if the storm were tracking farther west, but I think we'll be OK.
There's always the chance of a band passing through at game time, but generally, being a couple hundred miles west of an inland hurricane means we'll get nothing more than some light rain and a few stiff breezes.
Jacksonville IS still in the cone, so I'm not saying we're not completely out of the woods. I'm just saying chances are, we'll be fine.

I mean even Irma wasn't much but a windy rainmaker by the time it got up to Jacksonville. It wouldn't surprise me though if the storm ends up further west than the current track. There been nothing in the gulf all year and that water is still warm.

Latest Accuweather forecast for Northeast Alabama shows less than 1 inch rain and minimal, if any, winds. By gametime the storm center is projected to be northeast Ga/western SC and headed further northeast. Much concern for those impacted.

Much concern for those impacted. For real. It's looking real bad for folks in the Tampa area, especially the bay coastal areas. It's been awhile since they've dealt with surge like this. Most storms have come in either way north of them, reducing the impact, or just south, which pushes the water OUT instead of IN. If Ian comes in just north of Tampa, at high tide, this could be an ugly, ugly situation. Prayers up for everybody down there.

Watching the Weather Channel last night, I didn't realize the average depth of Tampa Bay is only 11' - 12'. Yeah, a direct impact there will be extremely ugly.

I'll be safe and dry in the skybox. I pity the poor peasants who will be in general admission.
