There are a couple of things of note you may want to know about if you are headed to the game this Saturday, 10/15. One oddity that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else: Due to required safety protocols for the field layout, all offensive drives will be played in one direction towards the first base dugout. Also, $15 to park, one space only. Everything here: Know Before You Go

I hope we beat UNA by a million for this stupid game.

As I said when this was announced, football should not be played in a baseball stadium.

As I said when this was announced, football should not be played in a baseball stadium. I've felt this way ever since attending my first-ever Jax State game against A&M at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville. The layout didn't make a darn lick of sense. It was marginally better than football in the old Atlanta-Fulton County stadium, though. Standing on the 50-yard line, you were about 75 yards away from the nearest fan. What an awful, awful place for football. And then there's the old Turner Field, now used by Ga State. I know it's a work in progress, and they've made some steady improvements compared to how it started, but sheesh. It's still an awkward, ugly place for football. And this comes from someone who always loved Turner Field for baseball. Football is meant for football stadiums. Any team wanting us to play them on a baseball field needs to be kicked off our schedule. Then we need to point and laugh and call them names.

I would say the exception could be the game at SunTrust vs Kennesaw. Especially if they come to CUSA and we can't kick them off the schedule. I know some of the sightlines from our side were less than ideal, but at least you could get a ticket rather than trying to squeeze into the 5 gallon bucket Kennesaw plays their home games at. Also I enjoyed my seats in the skybox. 😂

But rumors are flying that KSU plans to build a new football stadium in response to this invitation. If they accept the invitation (the Regents are meeting tomorrow morning, I believe) then the expansion in football capacity is near-guaranteed. We may have to play them at SunTrust for one season, but after that, we should be meeting them at their shiny new 30,000 (or thereabouts) stadium, designed from the ground up for football.

I've heard this rumor. Where you suspect they're putting it because unless they put it on the Brandsmart lot they really don't have anywhere.

Someone from KSU on the other board said they had a 30 acre lot Where? Is it the lot between Big Shanty and Chastain on the east side of 575? The rumors I've heard have said the Brandsmart property. We'll know something definite by noon or so tomorrow (Oct 11). That's when the BoR is meeting to decide KSU's future.

I was behind third base for the game at SunTrust. Not an ideal viewing situation. Yes, their home stadium is small but it is a football stadium. I don't know if the Braves would be wild about a football game there during baseball season.
Haven't been to a GSU game at Turner Field but I suspect we will be playing them eventually.
My parents went to a Falcons game once at Fulton County and said it was horrible.
