DL Cam Rice has just committed! 6.3 265 West Liberty University 2023 Harlon Hill Award Nominee
Cam Rice by the numbers: 2021 - Redshirted 2022 - 31 tackles, 20 solo, 13.5 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 2 FF, 1 FR 2023 - 58 tackles, 36 solo, 23.5 TFL, 9 sacks, 4 FF, 2 blocked kicks, 2 INTs (both pick 6's); 1st Team All-MEC; Harlon Hill nominee 2 years of eligibility remaining This is against D-II competition, so we'll just have to wait and see how it translates to FBS, but those numbers (especially the increase from his first year to his second) are very encouraging to say the least.

CRR's new top secret offense. Every player will be a quarterback. RR offensive scheme is like a formula 1 car in that it needs the right guy in the cockpit ( see what I did there?) to make it go as designed. I would think that takes a certain & maybe even rare set of personality traits, physical skills, intelligence & the often talked about “intangibles “ in a QB that gets to drive it. Possibly, since we don’t have the resources of a Power conference school that can sign most any 5 star with a wave of a few thousand dollars, it requires a lot of stones to be turned over to find the brightest gem. Pure speculation on my part, (& way too many analogies) as I only pretend to be a coach on Fall Saturdays, & maybe a few Wednesdays. 😁

In the spring game, a Logan Smothers pass was intercepted by a transfer not listed on the official roster:
CB Kenney Solomon II (6-0, 170, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Socastee HS/Univ. of Tennessee/Tulsa Univ.) - former consensus 3-star coming out of high school.
He has 1 year of eligibility remaining (COVID year) after playing in 46 career games for the Vols (2019 & 2020) and Golden Hurricane (2021 & 2022). He did not play in 2023.
Solomon hasn't been a "star" player by any means, but he's been a steady contributor in the SEC and AAC, especially on special teams. He's also seen time for the Vols on the offensive side of the ball. In 2022, he started 3 games at corner for Tulsa, finishing with 19 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 2 PBU, and 1 FF.
