Could part of the charter contract require some or all buses have JSU wraps? Would be very nice Probably would require a higher cost and a longer term contract. But likely doable.

I could see lacrosse as a possibility one day. Probably Women's lacrosse. We no longer have a facility for swimming so no to that. We won't do the buses and we shouldn't. A lot better uses for the money. (NIL, enhancing other facilities.) Correct about buses. Much more cost effective to charter. Most people just think about the bus cost. What happens when it breaks down?. Don't forget about employees to drive them and their salaries and benefits. I am not sure, but I think the football team 18 Wheeler is donated I think you're right about the football 18 wheeler.

And it does have a wrap. The university has the machinery to produce the wrap. Remember the fake brick wall.

Probably would require a higher cost and a longer term contract. But likely doable. Maybe we should sign a petition or something Just pull out the checkbook and it will be done. Based on my research.. for an away game we are probably paying $10,000 per bus. Those buses are used by many other schools when not in use by JSU. They would have to be wrapped before each use.

Who do we talk to about getting this done?? 😂😂 I would start with the bus company and ask them how much to take x buses out if commission except for JSU use. Then write a check.

Do y'all think JSU will ever get any new sports like lacrosse or swimming (just an example)? Also I know our budget currently doesn't allow it but do y'all think we will ever get custom buses that our athletic teams ride on like this? View AttachmentWe've had this discussion about Lacrosse on the other board, or maybe it was this one, I think. At the time, we were still in the OVC. Later moving to the ASUN that actually had Lacrosse. I believe this is the time frame. It makes sense! We probably should have moved in that direction. when in the ASUN. Basically, that discussion ended with simple analysis: "THE 400 CORRIDOR"400 runs up north Atlanta, moving through the cities of Sandy Springs, Roswell, Milton, Cumming, Alpharetta and now of all towns now Dawsonville! (Really, you should see how Dawsonville is growing) Drive up 400 and you can see all of the Lacrosse fields with a lot of young kids playing. Stop off at the Academy Sports at exit 13, you won't believe all of the Lacrosse equipment that they sell. Both Men's and Womens. Then take a look at the cars in the parking lots of the families who have kids playing - Mercedes, Volvo's, BMW, Land Rover.......With the mom's little stickers in the back windows with a number and a Lacrosse stick! It really would open up a lot of game with big time name Schools like Duke, UVA....Many of these schools are looking for competition. Liberty and Kennesaw get it. The 400 corridor offers a lot of recruiting for high value recruits. There are not a lot of scholarships to get to a lot of the kids. Kids bring parents to their games and parents bring money. They buy Logo Polo shirts and car stickers with Lacrosse sticks on them. Look, we don't have a Law or Medical School. Say the least for an aviation program that I have touted before. Let's save that for another thread, again! Jim, anything to add here! You had some good pointers on the last thread about Lacrosse.

I really want a lacrosse team and it seems like every big college has one these days as you said, I think it would get a lot of support but I don't know when or if we would get one

My nephew plays lacrosse (in Georgia) and is getting looks from colleges. It irks me that Jax State isn't even in the running for lack of a team.
I mean, sure, I get it. I understand. But it irks me just the same.

New sports: I don't see any way JSU can bring on lacrosse or mens soccer. Thats too many additional scholoraships to take on. I think the NCAA needs to increase the scholoraship limit on mens baseball and mens track. JSU only has cross country and I don't know how many scholoraships JSU mens team is funded,
Busses: I'm surprised JSU doesn't have any athletic buses. I've seen smaller schools like Wallace state bus several times on I65. I think Montevallo might have buses.

I'm not expecting us to get any new sports for a couple of years with the addition of bowling, but when we are in a better place financially, I do expect at least 1 more sport (hopefully lacrosse) My thing is, people on here say that we don't have enough money for stuff (custom busses, an actual indoor practice facility, stadium renovations that are actually really nice and modern (I know what they're building right now is going to be)) but yet community colleges and high schools do (Oxford) I transferred from a community college and there is no way they have more money than a D1 (FBS) university
