Ok, full transparency. I do not hate KSU. The owl is my favorite bird. In fact, I attract Barred Owls in my backyard almost weekly. There are 2-3 owls that come around when I make their calls and sounds. We need KSU to be good now and be competitive in order to make the ASUN a great football conference. However I kid about that team, what they have done to the program in such short time has been impressive.

I see nothing wrong with hating a school while at the same time wanting them to be successful for my own selfish ulterior motives. Back in the days of the Gulf South, I wanted troy state to be a ranked team -- preferably in the Top 5 -- when we kicked their ass. It made the taste of victory so much sweeter. And those games in the early 90s where we knocked UNA out of the playoffs? Such amazing memories... I just don't understand the bama-auburn fans who actively root against their rival. I mean, yeah, I get it. And if you're a tide fan and the tigers trip up on, say, Vandy, that's always good for a laugh. And no one wants their rival to win the championship. But an Iron Bowl with two undefeated teams is SO MUCH BETTER than an Iron Bowl with a playoff bound bama team going up against a 4-7 auburn squad. I mean, think about it. That other school's fans are dreaming of confetti and championship trophies... and your team gets to be the one to rip those dreams away from them, stomp them flat, pee on them, and bury them in an unmarked grave. What could be better than that?

My brother goes to Kennesaw. Honestly since I've graduated I've spent more time in Kennesaw than Jacksonville. So rivalry is nice but I don't see the rivalry as a deep rooted hatred like troy state as much as just being competitive.

What could be better than that? My only issue is losing twice to a team running an offense so antiquated that we fired our beloved national championship winning coach over because it can't win in D1... Nevermind Georgia Southern... And the fact that our recruiting budget at that time limited travel to schools no further away than Lincoln and Piedmont. Let's just say that I am excited to see what happens with the 3 back set and Zion running the option. The Wishbone can still win in the FCS. Mixed in with our spread formations our offense will be the most multiple around.

I've always said the T.O. is the Lord's offense. At least, at the FCS level and below.
Like you, it pains me to see it used against us.

What could be better than that? Bama fan here who hopes Auburn goes 0-12 every year. Not really into hating Kennesaw. I hope it becomes a good rivalry when/if the ASun football league launches.
