If we keep this up leading the conference in crowd size, another conference will pick us up .

Even JSU's numbers were fudged, but having attended the La Tech game (and been crammed in with the rest of the sardines, I mean, fans) on the home side, I can attest that the numbers weren't fudged nearly as much as some.
If JSU can continue to win more games than they lose, I think once the renovations are complete, we'll see numbers legitimately in the low 20s on a regular basis. Some of the bigger games we may come close to selling out. The smaller games will be in the 16K-17K range. The season average will be right around 20K-21K.
This should continue until either 1) we expand the stadium again or 2) the wheels come off and we have a few years of FIU-style success. Which is to say, we lose a lot.

Let's say they are all equally fake.
1. JSU would be 8th in the Sunbelt. 2. JSU would be 11th in the AAC. 3. JSU would be 1st in the MAC. 4. JSU would be 8th in the Mountain West. 5. Alabama State surprised me. 6. Big12 is pretty balanced. 7. Miami has a lot of people dressed as empty seats.
What's a good goal for JSU? I'll say 23,500. Some of you will say that's too low. But JSU has too many "soft" fans to have good crowds in November. FCS playoffs showed that.

I don’t think our stadium will seat that many post renovation. We are losing seats on the visitor side.

Here's a look at some of the FCS teams *within the footprint* who have been mentioned over the past two years as candidates/hopefuls for CUSA expansion. But first, an important note: This is NOT by ANY means an official CUSA wishlist from the league office, neither is it my own wishlist. A few of these schools absolutely should remain where they are. I wouldn't mind if some dropped to D-II. I've highlighted the "serious" regional contenders in boldface. 30,060 Jackson St 26,269 Montana 21,610 Montana St 18,208 SDSU 18,697 Tarleton St17,616 FAMU 15,121 NDSU 11,655 EKU 9,582 NCAT 9,494 UNA 9,143 Mo ST 8,840 McNeese St 8,309 Peay 8,177 Chatty 8,100 SFA 7,090 Abilene Christian 7,048 UCA 5,643 Lamar 5,618 Samford 5,400 Tenn St What's a good goal for JSU? I don’t think our stadium will seat that many post renovation. We are losing seats on the visitor side. I agree with brother that 23.5K is probably too high for the post-renovation stadium. I think a (legitimate) 22,000 average is probably a solid target, if we're setting goals.

I dont think they are equally fake. Go search pictures of games and then look for the percentage of the stadium capacity supposely in attendance. App State doesnt appear to fudge their numbers near as much as others, maybe not at all.

Thacker told me years ago that SOP at Jax State was to double actual attendance and add 1,000. Looking over reported attendance compared to butts in the seat it appears we continue the same practice.

SMU would be sixth in the Sun Belt and just joined the ACC, where they would have been last. But as soon as the Dallas Cowboys move to London they will own the market.
