I long for the old forum, there were fewer people but alot less annoyances. Remember when the only annoyance was goose feathers etc... I will add also that there are a few favorites who have a proclivity to be insulting and negative towards others. I hope we can refrain from Making references about others that are personal in nature, let's please stick to the topic and refrain from comments about the commenter. If your here to insult or belittle please go away. I think a forum can grow and get larger without devolving into what happened. The key is clearly delineated rules and equal enforcement. Disagreements and arguing can, do, and will happen, but there is never a time for personal insults and name calling. Its okay to say "That may be the stupidest thing I have ever heard!" but it isn't okay to say "You're the stupidest human being I have ever met." Another issue is language...I am not going to be so heavy handed as to ban for language, but PG-13 is a good level to expect. An occasional S or D may happen, but a rant full of F bombs will get censored. I don't recall that ever being a real problem anyway... If it becomes a problem I will set a filter. I already have one for the school that sucks. I am open to adding rules if someone thinks of something I left off the list. I think the list is fair but if someone thinks otherwise let me know. It is an election year... what do you guys think of a political forum? I am for it if it doesn't spill over into the other boards or keeps it off of the other boards. Maybe I should turn the economics forum into Politics and Economics. Instead of Macro Micro I can change the name to "Macro micro elephants and donkeys."

Political boards never end well.

Don't do politics. Political boards never end well. Hard pass on politics. We can all get that from the boob tube 24/7. Based on feedback from private messages I will forego a political forum. My only reason for considering it was to give a "safe space" where people could discuss it without bothering others who didn't want to participate. If it starts to happen on the main forums as the board grows, I might reconsider. As long as the main forums stay politics free, I won't create one. Thanks for the input!

If one is created, you may require poster to seek permission to join. This way you should not complain about content as you have asked to enter the fray. If you choose not to enter then the section would not be visible to you.

Well, like I said... My purpose was to keep it off of the general and athletics forums. As long as we don't have a problem there won't be a need. I could always open the GameDay forum on election day.
