Truth be told, if the goal of the ASUN is to go FBS I would think JMU would be in the mix.

Jmu has turned down the sbc already and haven't followed the liberty route either. They believe they are destined for the AAC I believe.

Not sure JMU would accept SBC academics. No idea if ASUN academics would pass their muster.

I have posted the renderings on a new "members only" board. Please do not rip them and post them on another site. Thanks!

if you haven't looked at the renders, be sure to visit the members forum and drop a comment on what you think.

JSU02 was able to dig up one of the renderings on a publicly accessible page here: bluelimestudio.com/interior-exterior-architectural-renderingIt's only one image, and you have to find it on that page of thumbnails of other designs. Here's a high res version of the rendering, in case we're lucky enough that it displays correctly here:

That is definitely the new board and these are definitely recent renderings.

I like stand alone buildings.
So, no I'm not liking what I'm seeing here.
Just my preference.
I like dorms being dorms and football stadiums being football stadiums.
I'm sure this is nothing final. But it does look like we are removing seating.
Seen this done before at Grant Field.

A lot of people are questioning if there's enough room between the field and Trustee Circle for another building plus stands.
The current north stands are approx. 330 feet by 86 feet (including the old pressbox, but not including concession stands/bathrooms).
The footprint of Fitzpatrick Hall is roughly 275 feet by 49 feet.
So yes, if you wipe out half the stands, there's PLENTY of room to build a very large dorm there, without having to reroute traffic.
The issue is, if the university follows the plan in these renderings, further expansion would no longer be possible on the north, south, or west ends of the stadium. That leaves the east end zone (where Southerners and the student section currently are).
I'm not sure I support that kind of plan...

There's a lot of room there between the sideline and the road.

What if we did just one set of dorms. Either end zone or visitor side. Then design the seating in the opposite area so that it could be added to if needed later with another deck. It’s possible though that the project doesn’t make sense without a certain number of dorm rooms to be included.

I like the drawings. We just need to make sure we can get to 40k in fans just in case. Love the idea. Hopefully we will get this completed within 5 years

Does anyone remember the plan to build a new stadium behind the Pete? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seems unlikely to me. We spend millions to have what we have now only to scrap that and build a new one somewhere else.
