Listening to Mike while watching ESPN3 has given me an idea for the name.
We Are Jax State was never intended to be "the name" of this board.
I keep hearing "Gamecock Nation" on the broadcast.
Gamecocknation.com is already registered. Gamecocksnation.com is not...close enough.
So the poll is, do we keep "We Are Jax State" or do we change the name to "Gamecock Nation" and register Gamecocksnation.com to go with gojaxstate.net?
Thoughts? Poll included!

If it’s Gamecocksnation.com, probably need to call it Gamecocks Nation. Otherwise it may be confusing.
Personally, I kind of like FightOnJaxState or GamecocksRoost.

The only question with Gamecock Nation or The Roost would be does USC already use those?

I know it may not be everyone’s favorite saying, but it seems the attendance at the game has embraced “Fear The Beak”

It is used by JSU. It isn't very long (fearthebeak.com) The negatives: Fear the Beak ugh. I know...people have accepted it...even embraced it...

I like it. If it’s available, I think you should take it. I think the majority of fans have embraced it.

I like Gamecock Nation.
I do not like gamecocksnation.com.
jsugamecocknation.com is available. Maybe use that instead?

I like Gamecock Nation. I do not like gamecocksnation.com. jsugamecocknation.com is available. Maybe use that instead? That might be a winner. We can still use "GameCock Nation" with the JSUGamecockNation.com URL. I will maintain the gojaxstate.net URL for double exposure, but the name can be Gamecock nation... so should it be GameCock Nation, or Gamecock Nation? I mean, our cheer is "Big C little o C K S" That is why I suggest GameCock Nation.

I have no preference. Not a big fan of We are Jax State but I can live with that one, too.

I know it may not be everyone’s favorite saying, but it seems the attendance at the game has embraced “Fear The Beak” I wouldn't mind "Fear the Beak" so much if Gamecocks were known for using their beaks. But that's not the case. Gamecocks use their spurs to inflict damage, which is why South Carolina has multiple variations of the "spur" theme: "Fear the Spur", "Spurs Up", "Spurrier"... (That last one was a joke. I swear.) Honestly, this whole "Fear the Beak" thing has me openly weeping at the appalling lack of knowledge of the noble art of cockfighting amongst JSU students and fans. I've notified PETA that there is no longer any need for them to protest our use of the Gamecock as a mascot. Folks in Jacksonville apparently just think Cocky is a rooster who enjoys a night of Scrabble, Uno, and Risk. Not a bad thing, actually. Add some fine drinks and good company, and I'm totally on board with it. But the Beak thing is awful. Just awful.

For the record, I agree with Whup about the lack of Cock fighting knowledge. I’m just resigned to the fan acceptance of the phrase. I do like the hand sign of the rooster head, but wonder how many people think we’re just saying “A-OK” or flashing some sort of white supremacy gang sign. I wonder how many of our fans realize that a Gamecock actually has its comb removed, as noted in the Larry K. Martin painting: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
