We are out of the running for the OVC tournament. The field has been reduced from its normal 6 teams to only 4 teams this year. If you are going to see Gamecock Baseball in 2021, today’s double header starting at 1 pm CT will be your last chance.
Go Gamecocks!!!

The Star says a Friday sweep will keep JSU in contention.

It's down to Austin Peay, EIU, and JSU.
Austin Peay is currently 15-13 (OVC) and holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over JSU. They still have two games left against 2nd place Murray State.
EIU and JSU are both 14-14 (OVC). They play twice today. EIU holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Peay.
If Peay sweeps Murray, the Govs make the tournament. If they split, it depends on the EIU-JSU outcome. If Murray sweeps, then the Govs are eliminated.
Assuming Peay splits...
If JSU sweeps EIU, the Gamecocks would move to 16-14, but would lose the tiebreaker to Peay, who would also be 16-14. Govs make the tourney.
If EIU sweeps JSU, the Governors would move to 16-14, but would get the tiebreaker over Peay, so the Panthers make the tourney.
Assuming Peay gets swept by Murray...
If JSU and EIU split, the Gamecocks would finish 15-15, and would be out of the running. The Govs (15-15) would lose the tiebreaker to EIU (15-15). Panthers make the tourney.
If JSU sweeps EIU, the Gamecocks finish 16-14, EIU finishes 14-16, and Peay would finish 15-15. Gamecocks would make the tourney.
So to make the tournament, JSU needs Murray to sweep Peay, and the Gamecocks need to sweep EIU.

Looks like I was wrong, we still had a chance to make the tournament going into our double header on Friday.
We did our part by winning both against EIU. Unfortunately it looks like Murray and Peay split.

It looks like we aren’t out yet. This from JSU...
JSU still has a chance to make the tournament with a three-game sweep of Morehead State by Belmont. The Eagles and Bruins started the final series on Friday with the Bruins taking a 4-3 decision. A sweep by Bemont will put JSU in the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed.

It seems an unlikely proposition with all the required sweeps I'm reading about.

On the final day, in the final game of the OVC regular season...Morehead State defeats Belmont 9-6. That knocks JSU out of a spot in the reduced 4 team OVC tournament.
