AAC is much less likely than CUSA or Sun Belt. Those two have a number who will say “They’re wackos, but I know enough hard core Baptists that I can deal with it”. Probably not a lot of Southern Baptists in the AAC.

AAC is much less likely than CUSA or Sun Belt. I know that, and you know that. But does Liberty (and its fans) know that? I've actually seen a post from a Flames fan unironically saying their goal is the ACC. That's like a JSU fan hoping to get an SEC invite someday. Only without as much heavy drinking involved.

Check out the UAB board. There are some who think the Big XII is in their future. I suppose it could if Texas and Oklahoma leave.

When Texas and Oklahoma leave the Big XII, it's going to RADICALLY change the look of college athletics.
Some feel the incentives that currently cap conferences off at 12-14 members will either be lifted or retooled, allowing for 16-team mega conferences (with two 8-team divisions) in football and possibly even 20-team conferences in other sports.
That's going to decimate the weaker P5s and stronger G5s, as everyone clambers to get into the power conferences like the SEC, ACC, and Big Ten. The Big XII without Texas and Oklahoma will either evaporate or be greatly weakened, opening the door for schools like UAB, silly as that sounds now.
These are the dominoes we've been waiting to fall since the Gamecocks were led by a coach whose last name was synonymous with a certain avian variety.
It could be a fun ride. Not for purists, though.

Texas has been “about to leave” the Big XII for years.

Money talks. They'll leave when they learn they can Garner more money elsewhere. Oaklahomas will probably go with them and the others will take the best offer made and some will be left holding the bag. I guess this will happen when the playoffs are renegotiated in the next couple years. I think this is why so many schools are talking about leaving the fcs en masse.

Soon will come negotiations and more money. When it becomes apparent Texas can make more money somewhere else. Sec 14 teams. Big10. 14 teams ACC 15 teams counting ND Pac12. 12 teams
I m guessing the PAC
But these four could all go to 16 teams. Making a relatively near pro style organization that could separate and leave everyone else behind. It's all about the Benjamin's.

Oaklahomas will probably go with them and the others will take the best offer made and some will be left holding the bag. Call me crazy (wouldn't be the first time) but I think Oklahoma would leave before Texas would. Right now, Texas enjoys the goldmine that is the Longhorn Network. Other conferences may not be so eager to take on that beast. Imagine sitting down with the SEC and saying, "Yes, the SEC network is fine for y'all, but we're going to keep all our games on the LHN." The SEC would laugh them out of the building. So would the Big Ten. They might stand a shot of taking their LHN deal into the Pac 12, but I don't think Oklahoma would follow them there. Most of the Big XII teams are low-end programs happy just to bask in UT's shadow. Not Oklahoma. The Sooners could move to an expanded SEC tomorrow. They'd make gobs more money, it'd be a huge improvement to their SoS, and the SEC would love to have them. Oklahoma could also potentially look to the Big Ten, which would also prove lucrative, while reuniting them with old rival Nebraska. They'd also have an easier path to a playoff seed, since they'd only have to face a couple of top tier teams instead of the entire SEC West (minus Vandy). (Not sure if the Big Ten would welcome them quite the same way as the SEC, but if they had to expand, there are worse ways to do it.)

Would Oklahoma have to drag little brother along with them? Is it important enough to them to keep the “rivalry” going? I put that in quotation marks because the Sooners lead 90-18-7. Way to keep it close, Cowgirls. Alabama leads Vandy 62-18-4.
Both are a much better fit, athletically and culturally, in the Big Ten. As is Missouri, for that matter. All three are more Midwestern (in my mind) than Southern. All three sponsor wrestling, which is huge in the Big Ten.
Oklahoma even sponsors men’s gymnastics, which is big there as well. Seven (soon to be five) in the Big Ten. Of course, only 15 (soon to be 13) in the NCAA have it to begin with.

I think the PAC would be more accommodating toward Texas and their demands. I like oklahoma to the Sec but I believe it is also necessary that okie St be taken care of that the move might be approved by the state legislature. Kansas to the BIG10, But their would be a need for a second for the sec and for the BIG10 to come along. Perhaps the PAC could take along okie St and Texas tech with UT. Some would be left looking for a home.

I think we’re going to see The SEC go after Oklahoma and accept Okla St as part of the package. They’ll then shift Bama, Auburn, and Miss St to the East and send Missouri to the West to keep travel down as much as possible. Oklahoma State would fit in as they compete academically with A&M on the agricultural programs.

If the Big Ten does pursue expansion -- which they may HAVE to do to keep up with the big boys -- I could definitely see them raiding the Big XII. And I agree with troysux that the Sooners are a much better fit culturally with the Big Ten. I guess it would all depend on whether Nebraska wanted their old rivals back. If the Huskers say no, I'm sure the Big Ten would accommodate their wishes. I think Texas to the Pac 12 is the only choice there. No one else is foolish enough to bend over for the LHN. Not sure who all would end up in the SEC. All I know for certain is this: The teams left behind in the Big XII are going to find themselves on a level with the Boise States, Marshalls, and UCFs of the world, whether they like it or not. Without Texas and Oklahoma (and arguably OK State), the Big XII will effectively become a high end G5 conference at best, on par with or just behind the AAC. (I guess we'll have to start calling them P4 and G6 at that point.)
