PBR is the best mass-market lager in America. I can't for the life of me understand how it developed a reputation as a "hipster beer" in the 2000s. That said, it doesn't surprise me at all that people mistake it for cheap redneck swill. It's definitely one of the cheaper brands out there. It's tough looking at a beer in the same price point as Natty Lite and Keystone and thinking, "I'll bet this tastes great!" And yet, it does... They started using the brand to sponsor concerts and other events to boost sales. True, but from what I understand, that was a *response* to the hipster love, not the cause of it.

I get ya, but if you look at the size of Bend vs. Grand Rapids, it is a little impressive.

Tonight…Volfas Engleman’s IPA. 6 %. Slightly bitter… almost like a semi dark beer. Not bad but not great..

Had some Summer Shandy last night. Haven't had it in a while. It's an easy one to drink.

Ahh, sorry! Volfas Engelman…. Cool I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Didn't realize it would be something you could even get in the States.

Lately I've been going down the path of NA beers and have been pleasantly surprised with what's out there. Forget "O'Drools" and other horse piss NA beers, there are actual craft breweries who specialize in NA beers. Examples would be Athletic Brewing Company which has a couple of different IPAs on the market, all which are very drinkable if you're looking for alternatives. I recommend "Free Wave IPA" as well as "Run Wild IPA". Wellbeing Brewing is another that offers "Intentional IPA" and "Hellraiser Dark Amber", they have others but these two are good. If you like shandies, Doghead Fish Brewing has "Lemon Quest" which is perfect in a cooler on ice for poolside or celebrating that freshly cut lawn. Just thought I'd share, have a great weekend Gamecocks!

A bit like Pine Cone red for those who traveled out west in the late 90’s. I’m in quarantine and Holiday Inn Saigon has craft beer. What else amnI expected to do?
