I figured if we have a thread about good beer, why not dedicate one to the Pub? I know I wasted many an hour and brain cell there. It was my classroom away from the classroom, my cafeteria away from the cafeteria, my frat house away from the frat house, it was just pure fun. If memory serves me well, it started as just a package counter in front, then the little shed building was added on in back? Throw in a tv, some dart boards, foosball, an arcade game and some tables, chairs and church pews and there you have it. Cheap beer, good people, fun times. What are some of your memories of the Pub?

Sadly, it was closed then torn down. I believe the University bought the spot?. Now it's just a little parking lot across the street from Strut's. Hallowed ground really for those who frequented it.

I remember the foosball table. Also seems like Fran Blanchard worked there for awhile.

Was it the Copper Penny before? No the Copper Penny was located next to Subway. Pub was across from Struts.

As usual, you are correct. I remember if you were a Pub regular when you graduated, LJ would give you a free magnum of champagne. Granted it wasn't Dom but it was all about the ritual.

It is surely not the same, but I noticed that Momma Goldberg’s is now The Red Rooster. It is a deli, but beer is on tap.
