I am assuming you guys are going?
Last time was pretty awesome. FSU fans were cracking hard on the Marching Chiefs for being shown up on their own turf.

Exciting weekend ahead!! This Friday, the Marching Southerners will begin their trip to Tallahassee, FL for the JSU vs FSU football game. The JSU Marching Southerners and the FSU Marching Chiefs will both perform at halftime. After both bands have performed their openers, they will run into position for a joint performance of "United We Stand." (This music is from the Southerners show that could not be performed in 2020 due to COVID).
The Marching Southerners and The Marching Chiefs will be practicing together on Saturday afternoon to put everything together. As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, we are performing this arrangement by Justin Williams as a memorial to those that lost their lives that day. By intermixing both bands we hope to send a not-so-subtle message about the importance of our country coming together. I have no doubt that many long-lasting friendships will be made this Saturday between both of these wonderful band programs! I am so excited to see and hear these outstanding musicians perform together.
The performance will face the (home) press-box side. We will video the halftime show from the pressbox and post it as soon as possible. (Please remember that we have a long ride home that night after the game....so it may possibly be Sunday before we can get the official video posted). ❤

If anyone was at the game, did the Southerners actually do their opener or just the joint performance. I haven't seen any videos posted other than the joint tribute with the FSU band.

They did their opener (as did FSU) plus the joint performance. The CollegeMarching.com Facebook page posted a video, but it wasn't the full opener. Just a clip of the big hit: fb.watch/80tl6hTN_K/

Good to know they did get to do part of their show, hopefully someone will post the full video.

Do you think that the Southerners will see an influx of Florida panhandle kids because of this show and/or game outcome?

Do you think that the Southerners will see an influx of Florida panhandle kids because of this show and/or game outcome? That's usually how it works. Back in the late 90s, when Southerners played an exhibition in the northeast ATL metro area (for the first time in my memory), we gained a steady stream of Gwinnett County kids for literally the next 10 years. It wasn't a lot, but it was steady, and there was some good talent in that bunch. I believe Saturday might have been FSU's Band Day as well, so there were quite a few kids in attendance. I did see at least one Panhandle band director (and FSU grad) sharing videos of Southerners and the combined band. I wish Southerners would do an exhibition down in south Alabama. It's been ages since they've gone any farther south than Montgomery...
