I think Grass was protesting a no call on roughing our punter. I hope that's what it was. The ref deserved some abuse for that no call. There's no excuse for the TD bomb. I was just shaking my head. The DB's are not looking for the ball at all. Just running down the field have no idea where the ball is. According to The Voice, our punter was going for an academy award and wasn’t hit…or at least not enough to warrant a penalty I think we should make Mike Parris coach. I'm joking.... Kinda

If we don’t get a lot of these injured players back next week, we are in trouble. UTM is better than UNA. Yeah... most of us have SHSU in the loss column already... FSU and UAB were, and we went 1-1. KSU, UCA, and a couple others are "toss-ups." Nobody expected UT-M to be a L, but if we play like we did against tuna, an L it will be. I was hard on the 6-5 train until we beat FSU. I think SHSU and UCA beat us handily. SFA and KSU are toss ups and I think we split. Unless we REALLY self destruct we will be able to just willpower our way to wins over everyone else. So we are still staring 7-4 hard in the face. But maybe I get surprised and we take both KSU and SFA and we get to 8-3. Who knows.

UNA was 10-15 on third downs. 15 third down attempts is a huge number (we had 10). 66% on 3rd down is also a huge number. Weird we give up those monster stats but also score 2 TDs on defense.
Rain streak continues. I'm all out of ponchos.

The problem with defensive td's is you cannot count on them.

The problem with defensive td's is you cannot count on them. Exactly. While defensive touchdowns are still TD's, sometimes it can be the result of "out athleting" your opponent. We simply have more talented players. The problem is that they are not being put in position to succeed... incredibly frustrating after the game plan and adjustments made against FSU. In that game we actually out-coached FSU. Scary for FSU to be honest. I don't know the answer... you can't out-athlete everyone. The reason we got beatdown by NDSU was because we ran into a team that could match us player for player that season. We were loaded. They were loaded. They had great coaching.......... Maybe it was a blind squirrel situation with FSU. We can't count on tripping over nuts against similar talent levels... and I wouldn't put any game against an option offense in the W column until the horn sounds to end the game. Defending the option requires discipline, and that is something we tend to struggle with.

I don't think fsu was a blind squirrel situation. I think they'll go winless this year.

Yes and No History will say it was against weak FSU team. Not making the playoffs and a good run will make us look lucky.
The media play will make most of the public remember JSU beating a team who almost beat ND. JSU will most likely not be mentioned on most major broadcast again.

It looks bad to those who know, but the majority of sports fans are past it and will only remember we beat them.
