Just too frustrated to say one way or the other. For me, that’s the problem. We just don’t seem to know what we’re going to trot out on the field week to week. Even worse, what our identity is from play to play, half to half. One series we seem to be in sync, moving the chains. Then a penalty, missed passes or stalled runs. Then the wheels fall off. Dunno, just blah.

I put 3 as a best case scenario. I think the only "Easy W" left is Lamar. EKU and Kennesaw are 50/50s and the SFA, SHSU, UCA, and ACU are 4 straight L's.
If we lose this weekend we will be riding a 6 game losing streak into the Lamar game.

Gut tells me KSU takes the win. They're much more disciplined than us. KSU team stats so far in 2021:
PENALTIES Total-Yards - 9-86 Avg. Per Game (YDS) - 28
TIME OF POSSESSION - 35:39
Fumbles-Lost - at least one against GT

So we play our most “Disciplined” game of the year (only 7 penalties and 1 TO) and lose. To start the game we look like we can score at will, and then for two+ quarters it looks like we couldn’t score on air. Who knows…..
This I do know. We MUST win the next two to have ANY realistic chance at a playoff berth.
Go Gamecocks!!! WHUP KSU!!!

Got it off ESPN so maybe they need to double check. But you’re right, I recall that fumble now. It made Sports Center because of the spicy GT stiff arm on the run back. Original post corrected.

I felt really good about the KSU game when they got manhandled by Ga Tech, until I saw what the Yellow Jackets did to UNC.
KSU had 415 yards of offense in the Tech game, and a surprising amount of that was through the air.
They had nearly 500 yards of offense against Wofford.
They're going to maul us.

If that's the case, our D will be out there a long time and be gassed. Don't think we have the discipline to keep assignments to slow the TO and they'll win the TOP. Rinse and repeat.

Our defense seemed gassed in the 4th quarter, despite the fact that our time of possession was almost equal to UTM (29:20 vs 30:40). If we can't play disciplined, assignment defense (HAHA!) and solid man-to-man pass coverage (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!) the Owls are just going to grind it all day long. Meanwhile, when our offense does manage to see the field, will we be handing the ball off to Pat Jackson, Josh Samuel, Ron Wiggins, and Uriah West to let them pound the Owl defense into submission and rest our own D? NO! We'll throw it. A lot! Live and die by the big play, yes siree! When we score, we'll score quickly. When we don't score, we'll punt quickly. We'll be lucky to hold the ball more than 25 minutes on offense.

We'll be lucky to hold the ball more than 25 minutes on offense. I just crunched numbers on every offensive possession we've had this season. I excluded all end of half drives that did not end with a score. Our average drive on the year lasts 2:48, consists of 6 plays, and ends in a punt. Only 25.6% of our drives end with an offensive score. 17.9% end with a touchdown. Our average touchdown drive (7 on the year) us 8.7 plays and lasts for a staggering 3:13. Our drive breakdown consists of: 7 Touchdown Drives 3 Missed Field Goals 3 Made Field Goals 2 Turnovers (INT/FUM) 2 Turnovers on Downs And a whopping 22 Punts Truthfully the fact we've only turned the ball over twice really impressed me a lot. But yeah. We're definitely not a long driving, grind-out-the-clock type of team.
