I don't see another win until Lamar and considering we'll be on a 6 game losing streak by then and our team has the mental toughness of a sea sponge I would not be surprised if we mailed it in for that game too.
So does Grass make it to the end of the season?
God forbid he get extended.

I don’t think Grass will be back next year. It appears that he has lost the team. Today was a huge embarrassment. I save some of the blame though for the players. I get it that the coach always bears the responsibility and I have been questioning our recruiting now for about three years.
But, when you get so physically whipped and dominated like we did today, the players have to own that too.

By a team running the TRIPLE FRIGGIN OPTION. Back in 2015 we leaned on the run. We lined up and blew teams off the ball. Today was an embarrassment in the trenches.

He makes it to the end of the season, but announces his retirement somewhere along the way.

Seems the run the ball concept escapes us lately. We can’t grasp it or commit to it. At times I just feel like Grass is helping a certain QB pad his stats at the expense of the rest of the playbook.

"We couldn't stop them and get off the field," said Jacksonville State head coach John Grass. "It's hard to get ready for what they do in a week and I don't think we handled it very well.“
What? Pretty sure we’ve played them before and are aware of what they do. Did I miss something?

Did we not realize they were on the schedule?

I’ll just drop this right here…
“It was the Gamecocks' largest regular-season loss to an FCS opponent since 2013”

It's the friendliest campus in the south. Hell finish the year,. Let's just pray he isn't welcomed back next year. We need to start recruiting for a new coaching staff. Perhaps we should call it for this year and get to worrying about the future.

Yes. Unless you want 2Plays Ogle running the team.

I'm holding out hope the rumors of Grass's impending season-end retirement are true.
I'm also holding out hope he's relayed his plans to Greg Seitz, and a search for his replacement is already quietly under way.
I'm also holding out hope the next coach will tell Jimmy Ogle, "You can be on the staff if you just want to coach running backs, but I've got the offensive playcalling covered, thanks."
I'm also holding out hope the new coach, whoever he is, will come in and change the culture of the program as radically as CBC did when he replaced Crowe.
I've heard from alumni who visited the team under CBC and were stricken (even amused) by how hard everyone was working compared to how they'd done it under Crowe.
I've heard (unverified, but totally believable) reports that the strong work ethic CBC installed died out completely, shortly after we made it to Frisco.
I'm holding out hope we can become a true championship contender again in 2022.
I'm holding out hope we don't become the EIU or TTU of the ASUN...
