This kid was really good in HS and is an NC State transfer. 4* recruit was a top 20 QB…. Here is your next QB at JSU.

My wife said, after we were reviewing his Twitter pictures…”he’s built like a brick ****house.” I said, “he’s younger than our son.” The kid has a rocket, but so did Zerrick. I think this dude’s legs are faster.

Scouting report for McLaughlin:
At the Elite 11 Atlanta camp in March 2020, he finished with a Football Rating of 119.19, which was the best QB rating logged during the 20-year history of the camp. His stats included a 4.71 40, 4.33 shuttle, 43-foot power ball toss, and 36.4 inch vertical.
He barely saw the field during his freshman year at NC State, so he'll have four full years of eligibility remaining.

Should add some competition to the position. May the best man win.

Should add some competition to the position. May the best man win. Combined with the guys we have coming back (several of whom are both young and promising) our QB room should be set for this fall. Now to grab some linemen and maybe a defensive monster or two from the Portal.

KG Clanton (RB, 5-11, 210, Luverne, Ala./Luverne HS) has signed with the Gamecocks. It may be a PWO offer, but don't quote me on that.
Regardless, he's got good size, strength, balance, and speed, and comes from a great program which has turned out a few Gamecocks over the years. He's a bit slow out of the gate, but once he hits that second gear, he's gone. Also played LB for the Tigers, so he doesn't mind contact. Hard to bring down on the first hit. Doesn't stick around for a second. I like this kid.

Don't know how good our chances are of landing him, but he's a 6-2, 275 former consensus 3-star D-lineman from a family of P5- and NFL-level athletes with four full years of eligibility remaining. We could certainly do a lot worse...
