Quite a few QBs are in the Portal now. Florida's Emory Jones (a former 4* recruit) entered today. For anyone unaware, his hometown is Franklin, GA, a scant 70 miles southeast of JSU. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
I was incorrect about Bo Nix (former 5*). I thought he only had one year remaining, but he also has two years of eligibility. Bo's from Pinson, which is 75 miles west of JSU.
(FYI, I still believe we don't need to go to the Portal at this position. Just pointing out that two highly ranked former SEC starters are out there.)
Also FYI, Jordan Yates, the Georgia Tech QB who JSU has offered, is a former 3* from Alpharetta, which is 120 miles to our east.
It's kind of scary how much talent is within 2 hours of JSU...

With Bo having 2 years left does that change your mind on bringing him in? Not that it’s happening just asking the question.

I still don't think he'd come to JSU, simply because he could help his draft stock more by going literally anywhere else in the P5. But if he wanted to stay at home in Alabama and play for a team transitioning from FCS to FBS, I'd welcome him. I just don't think we need him. (Same goes for Emory Jones, who's maybe a notch or two below Nix in talent, but still good.)

Not sure if he is or not. Was before Rich Rod.

Not that most of us expected him to come to JSU anyway, but now it's official: Bo Nix has found a new home at Oregon.
