There's a lottttttt of ULM on our staff.
ULM gave up a lottttt of points of defense.
I really hope we aren't about to be ULM 2.0.

"Additionally, Rodriguez also is tabbing Willie Green to coach the Jacksonville State defensive line, the same position Green held this past season on the ULM staff. It’s a return to familiar territory for Green, who previously spent four years at Jacksonville State"

And as bad as the Warhawks were in 2021, they were FAR better than they were before they arrived: 2021 (after arrival) - 33.50 ppg; 161.9 ypg rushing; 290.33 ypg passing; 43.20% 3rd down conversions; 38.71% 4th down conversions. 2020 (before arrival) - 42.00 ppg; 249.0 ypg rushing; 215.30 ypg passing; 57.04% 3rd down conversions; 68.42% 4th down conversions. 2019 (before arrival) - 38.67 ppg; 252.7 ypg rushing; 230.83 ypg passing; 42.35% 3rd down conversions; 52.38% 4th down conversions.

I get that. But to be fair when your defense averages 42 a game, there's nowhere to go but up. I see the potential but I'm not sold yet. Not enough to say it's a slam dunk hire. I'm hoping my skepticism is misplaced but we shall see. We averaged 28 ppg on defense last year so their plenty of room for improvement.

I never said it was a slam dunk hire. But it's unfair to slap them with ULM's stats when they were legit only there one season. If that 2021 line was Year 3 under that staff, I'd really be questioning the wisdom of our defensive hires. As it is, I'm in wait-and-see mode. It's good to have Willie Green back at least.

They haven't even snapped a ball yet for JSU. I'm digging the staff HCRR is putting together and excited to see what they do.

Probably because the past 4 years of mediocrity have scarred me. Relax. CJG is gone. Crank your sunshine pumper and run some carburetor cleaner through it.

I’ve been working on that myself but am experiencing a few backfires.

I’ve been working on that myself but am experiencing a few backfires. I’d check the gasket between the manifold and carburetor. Be sure to retorque to manufacturer’s specifications. While you’re at it, rebuild the carb and replace the jets with new ones. Make sure your mixture isn’t running to lean as this could lead to misfires. How’s the spark plug gap, checked that lately? Make sure the gap is set and give it a good cleaning. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling. Lastly flush the gas tank and run a tank full of fresh petrol and you should be running smoothly for the Rich Rod debut.
