The question is. Is that a good thing?
Some guys are transferring because they couldn’t cut it where they were at. Others because they were studs. I’m guessing A&M is getting the first group.
Which are we getting?

AL A&M is feasting on the portal. I noticed that too.

Which are we getting? A mix. One was a solid multi-year contributor at the FBS level. A couple were redshirts who never had a chance to show what they could do. The only one who could be called "disappointing" at his old team was redshirted one year and didn't play during his RS freshman year. Even if he "couldn't cut it" there, he was (and is) young. A lot of guys take a year or two to adjust to the college game, especially at the P5 level. Even if they don't become All Americans for the Gamecocks, I'm glad to have them if they add meaningful depth. Besides, scholarships are precious right now. Coach Rod is building a team to compete in CUSA. If he offers a kid off the Portal, you can bet your bottom dollar he and the staff have done their due diligence.

An advantage of having a Rich Rod coaching staff is familiarity with what it takes to participate at every level. He knows what it is like to be the head coach of a FBS top 3 ranked team and what those players look like.

He's likely seen that other dimension of players I like to call "Blue Collar Southern Speed."

Maybe HCRR will bring in some "coal miner conditioning"? Feed these boys some pepperoni rolls (if you don't know, you'll have to google it up to get the connection).

Why would we care about A&M

Why would we care about A&M We don't. But it's certainly an interesting observation when a state school has signed 25 FBS-to-FCS transfers (plus 3 more FCS-to-FCS). That's a helluva lot of transfers. I wish 'em luck breaking the mercenary mentality in that lockerroom... Sheesh... Better them than us.
