So I've been doing some looking at way ahead to kind of get a feel of what kind of change to expect with our move to CUSA coming up and it's a helluva upgrade from a conference difficulty standpoint.
These are the current Net Rankings of the ASUN members: Liberty- 115 JSU- 135 Jax- 167 FGCU- 197 Bellarmine- 209 KSU- 226 Lipscomb- 268 EKU- 269 UNF- 276 Stetson- 306 UNA- 317 UCA- 318
Which gives us an average of 211. Pretty abysmal since once you get past Jacksonville the rankings fall quickly.
By comparison this is the CUSA after realingment (I'm throwing in SFA because I want them and I seriously think CUSA will pick up a 10th by the time we join. Would make nice 5 team divisions): NMSU- 90 MTSU- 101 LTU- 103 Liberty- 115 SFA- 117 WKU- 120 JSU- 135 SHSU- 166 UTEP- 175 FIU- 244
This conference has an average Net Ranking of 136. Which puts it on Par with the current A10. Outside of FIU, everyone in the new CUSA will be equivalent to a current top 3 ASUN team or better. It will be like playing Liberty 15 times a season. I'd venture to say the move to CUSA for basketball might be the most difficult conference move JSU has made in any sport based on where they are to where they're going. The new CUSA has potential to be a top 10 conference in the nation.
If JSU plays it's cards right, we could go from beating up on Lipscomb to being a very reputable mid-major pretty quickly in this conference. If Ray can get us through the transistion and have us competing for CUSA championships we should be prepared to pay the man a lot of money.

Well, he is familiar with what it takes to be successful in the CUSA.
I think we are in good hands.

Ja Morant publicity seems to be doing them well. I did forget they were moving to the MVC so that would make it that much harder for us to pull MoSt away.
