We backed in, but anyone saying we don't deserve to be there is full of crap.
Had Liberty won the tiebreaker over us, I'd feel the same way. You win the regular season championship, you've earned it. If you get the bid because of a standing conference rule (and not last minute shenanigans) then you've earned it.
JSU was the regular season champ. JSU earned the tiebreaker over Liberty. Bellarmine won the conference tourney but is ineligible for the NCAA Tournament. ASUN rules specify that if the tourney winner is ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, the autobid goes to the regular season champ. See the first sentence of this paragraph.
JSU deserves to be in the NCAA Tournament. Q.E.D.

I understand JSU netted around $400k from playing in the tourney last time. It takes about 4 years to get the payment. I don’t understand why it takes that long. Also from inside the bubble we anticipate being a play-in school with game held in Dayton I would hate that because I wouldn't be able to go, but we would have a (realistic) shot at winning a game.

Instead of the whole thing in a lump sum. I believe it's up to the conference bro divide as they see fit per the league contracts and whatnot. I doubt the ASUN gives us much since we've already got a foot out the door. Really the big thing we will get from the Dance is exposure.

I just honestly can't see myself as a Jacksonville fan, being the runner up, watch a team you beat at their place go to the dance and be okay with it. I understand it's the rule. But I don't agree with it. If the whole narrative of "conference tournaments don't matter" is actually true then the AQ should go to the regular season champ by default.

Are we? Why would we get bad press, we didn’t take it from the they simply can’t go. You’d think the ncaa would get negative press Because we're the team that doesn't deserve to be there. We deserve to to be there as much as bellarmine does. There is no reason for a tournament to decide who is the champion. If you play a everyone already and came out on top. We have already won the conference outright Bellarmine won the 2nd chance tournament they already had the opportunity to win it outright but they didn’t.

Oh no. I've brought dishonor upon myself, my family, and my cow. I blame the 5 years of living in Alabama. Also, you forgot the comma between "fire" and "JSUSoutherner". It's a direct address but you probably knew that.

We were regular season champs. Not like they pulled a name out of a hat.

Silly argument…
We are in.
Someone has to go.
Ballarmine can’t.
It’s either the conference champ or the tournament runner-up.
Rule says conference champ.
We are the conference champ.
It would have been nice to win the tournament. The loss sucked because it was a loss to a team we should beat 7 days per week, but irrelevant to the issue.

It's just my take on them. My pipe dream is we hand Coach K his last L ever. That would be incredible. But I may as well buy a Powerball ticket while I'm at it.

We deserve to to be there as much as bellarmine does. There is no reason for a tournament to decide who is the champion. If you play a everyone already and came out on top. We have already won the conference outright Bellarmine won the 2nd chance tournament they already had the opportunity to win it outright but they didn’t. So you're saying Belmont should have went Dancing in 2017. I’m saying you have two conference champions one tournament one regular season. one cannot go with or without us. What is it you advocate. We hang our heads and refuse to go? Hand it over to JU who isn’t even close to either conference champions record. Who hasn’t won anything but one game which counts more than the one they lost to both champs. You basically have a regular season champ. US And a tourney champ. Bellarmine And a team who won one consequential game all year In the past we would be the champs. But today the love of money makes a round robin conference play a tournament. The rules say the tourney winner goes to the ncaa tournament Unless they are not eligible, Then the other champion goes. I don’t know what the rules say if the two were the same perhaps then JU would have went. So be it those are the rules As a ASUN conference champion Jax St has every right to be in the NCAA tournament just as much so as Bellarmine did and more so than JU. Perhaps JU should win one of those next year if they want a shot at going. I understand all this clearly as does most. WhT I don’t understand is Jax St fans who complain all the way through a 22 win season and then complain because we get to go to the NCAA tournament. Which is the real problem.
