The sad thing about the NCAA tournament -- specifically as it relates to mid-majors -- is that before the conference tournament, everyone had Liberty pegged as a 12-13 seed if they won the tourney. (JSU was still in the 15-16 range.)
Everyone gets upset in semis... An ineligible team wins... JSU gets the NCAA bid by virtue of its regular season championship...
And Liberty is staying at home.
How you go from projected 12-13 seed to not getting an invitation is beyond me. But hey, it's the NCAA. It's what they do.
I'm just glad JSU is in. Here's hoping we make some noise.

What would have helped Liberty if they had won the ASUN tournament was that their non-conference results were a lot better than JSU's. Although not real good teams this season Liberty did beat UNI, ECU and Missouri (as I said not real good teams but wins). Also they had close losses to Pitino's Iona squad, along with BYU and Stanford. So they might have got a 13. JSU's non-conference was not good. I remember people bragging about only losing by 3 to Wichita State. WSU ended up 15-13. JSU's best win so far has been against a 22-11 Liberty. www.liberty.edu/flames/mens-basketball/schedule/

Last prediction from ESPN and CBS
Lunardi has JSU 15 vs Kentucky 2
Palm has JSU 16 vs Kansas 1
One has Murray an 8 and the other has Murray a 9.
Now we wait for the real deal.
