Ga southern definitely had a down year but overall they are a winning program. More football titles than we have in all of our sports combined. Southern’s 20+ year old hay day is about as relevant to the conversation as our dominant run in D2. CUSA and The Sunbelt are both two legged dogs. One conference is missing it’s front legs and the other is missing it’s hind legs. Which one is better depends on whether you prefer dragging your arse end or the occasional face plant. some what agree, but with CUSA losing so many low hanging members hard to grasp how the league will not be better

I see the CUSA to AAC schools made it official that they’re moving on next summer within the hour after the AAC to Big XII schools announced they were going next summer. How might this affect JSU and Sam? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It doesn't. Join CUSA on 7/1/202 3

Ah. I wasn’t sure of the date. So I guess we just miss that one year of UAB conference game then.

Basically, the news of the AAC6 leaving CUSA was, "Hey, guys. That thing we all knew was happening and that we based all these other moves on? Well, it's official now. Have a nice day."
Absolutely nothing changed with anyone's plans. They merely released the contracts and/or made an official statement.
(Don't listen to the idiots on twitter and certain rival conference fan boards. They'll have you believing this was some sort of death stroke against CUSA, when it's literally the very reason JSU and SHSU were invited to join in the first place.)

I wouldn’t bet on any of that

I wouldn’t bet on any of that One would have to believe that planning a move that large with that many moving pieces would be impossible to keep under wraps. There would be more leaks than one guy on the TUNA forums. It is interesting, but it is hard to imagine it being true.

This guy throws out a lot of stuff. He does. And sometimes it's completely ridiculous. Other times, it sounds completely ridiculous, right up until the big announcement is made confirming those rumors. (JSU to the ASUN was one of those completely ridiculous rumors.) I do believe his sources are legit and he's sharing what those sources are saying. I just don't believe his sources are correct in all their projections. As for this rumor... there are so many moving pieces, it's hard to accept all of it, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that some of it could actually be being discussed. Will it come to pass? I don't think so. But I was also totally dismissive of the ASUN Football rumors... (And FWIW, I was even more skeptical of Gem's repeated assertions that JSU's path to FBS went through CUSA rather than the Belt. Who knew? I'm bad at this stuff, apparently.)

CUSA prediction on my part was a WAG at best. Knew no one would want to add troy state, nowhere to go but down from SBC but thought UAB had a chance to move up. Which would open the chance for an Alabama team and JSU was the easy choice. Have to admit the way it worked out was nowhere near my thought process.

Some of these teams will be In Cusa.
The sheer number of reports of whole conference movement and conference mergers is ridiculous and none has ever been true.
Some of these will be In a cusa and we all know who they likely are. The others will have to join together with the wac to sustain an fcs presence or both conferences will drop football
If things get so bad this came true it would be a catastrophe for CUSA.

Not sure if it matters who is in the league. The G5 schools are all about the same, no names. Recruits will be D1, facilities and if a few have NILs they will move to the top. Just look at the recent move ups didnt take long for them to rise to the top.

The current CUSA 4.0 teams plus some combo of SFA, Tarleton, KSU, EKU, or UTC would get us to 12 or even 14 teams, without having to resort to desperately taking teams whose ceiling is clearly FCS. Even if some poaching occurs at the top, there are other teams which could move in without having to merge with the entirety of the ASUN Football league and some imaginary revamped WAC. And this is even if CUSA remains a bottom tier conference and doesn't magically surge to the top of the G5.

Heck SBC took CCU who appeared to be at the ceiling in FCS. CCU has done better in FBS than FCS.
