I’ve always said that more casual fans or locals without strong ties will come for home games against USM or La. Tech than games against top 10 FCS teams because of perception. Even if SHSU would monkey-stomp most G5 teams, the average Joe doesn’t know it. They only recognize the name or not…not the quality. A real problem will be that we will always look 2nd rate even if we won the national championship and had home games against Bama Georgia and Michigan. We will never average more than 20k fans. What do we do if la tech brings 10k fans? Tell some to stay home? What if we play for the conference championship against mtsu or Wku. Easy drive but we’re sorry you might as well stay home. Same as everyone else. Crank up the ticket prices and rake in the cash. Supply and Demand, baby.

Has demolition started yet?
I'm beginning to have serious doubts it will be done by mid September 2023.

I do appreciate them for dredging the bottom of CUSA for new teams. They inadvertently made CUSA better by taking teams nobody wants, the teams that seldom if ever make noise How much noise has FIU, NMSU, and UTEP made lately? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

UTEP played in a bowl last year and beat ODU and USM who are going to the now "world dominating" SBC.
If we are members of any G6 league dont expect all members to be even low P4 type teams. The MAC, MWC, B12, SBC, AAC and CUSA will have some lower level teams every year. Lets just hope we can stay out of this area of the rankings.

To average 20K, we don't need to pull in 20K every single game.
NMSU, UTEP, and FIU won't be much of a draw. I'd like to think SHSU will draw a *slightly* bigger crowd than usual, but it won't be due to Bearkat fans, obviously. It'd be JSU fans who remember them. Regardless, these are all going to be attendance low points.
La Tech may actually bring some fans. WKU, MTSU, and Liberty will definitely bring some.
Will those be enough to get us to a 20K average? Probably not. That's where the OOC games come into play.
Most G5s play at least one home game against an FCS opponent. I know an effort will be made to schedule teams our fans care about, such as UNA, KSU, and UTC. We may or may not always be successful in that endeavor, but when it happens, it's going to be a big game. The good news is, even if the FCS team is Peay or UCA, those games will usually fall on a big JSU event, such as band day, preview day, or homecoming, so a big crowd will be virtually guaranteed.
We'll *occasionally* have a home game against a low/mid-tier P5 team. Needless to say, those will sell out.
That leaves what will be our bread and butter: OOC games against fellow G5 teams. Once the schedules can be hammered out, I fully expect to see a rotation of UAB, troy state, Ga State, Ga Southern, and maybe USA or Southern Miss coming through JSU each season. Several, if not all, of those games will come near sellout status.
As long as Coach Rod can get 11 men on the field (no more, no less), reduce/eliminate the ill-timed stupid penalties, and, ya know, win games... we'll be in excellent shape attendance-wise. I have no doubts there.

We can do like most colleges do today and just make up any number. Our attendance could be 35000 in a 20000 seat stadium. Can say they were in the patio area, suites or in the aisles.

Our ticket prices our cheaper than the local D2 here in Michigan. Quality costs money. Something our fanbase needs to get used to. JSU isn't building all these new facilities out of the goodness of their hearts. But sure, call it gouging.

At a limited number you’ll have to gouge at some point.
How much would you suggest for general admission seating And how much for premium seating. Also what will be the ratio of one to the other?
Also how much do you believe an average patron will pay? What does it cost to watch from home?

Also how much do you believe an average patron will pay? It depends. We know what the supply will be. But what is yet to be seen is the demand. The demand will dictate prices. If at $15 a ticket we're selling 19k a game then it's $15. But if we can sell out the stadium at $35 a ticket then it's $35. Maybe even more. My point isn't that we should gouge fans. My point is that if we as a fan base are expecting a premium experience we should be prepared to see a premium pricetag. And considering the state of our fundraising, JSU has to get funding somehow. At the end of the day if the ticket is $5 or $50 it's all going back to the university to further improve and with the moves that JSU has made to improve recently, I trust them to put the money to good use. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't have a problem paying more when I know that I'm getting what I pay for.

Perhaps everyone sitting in the seats aren’t fans that spend their free time online talking JSU perhaps most just like to go to a game on Saturday.
We could adjust the prices in the same manner with 35 thousand seats. My guess is the more you charge the fewer the fans. I too would like to pay a little extra for more amenities comfort etc. but most aren’t of the same mindset. In truth I could sit at home in a recliner eating and drinking whatever I like and watch multiple games if I so choose. This is most fans so what is it that JSU will or can offer to entice these people out to the game? And will they pay extra for it? My guess is no. Some will but most won’t.
There has to be a low end option for some of these fans. Let’s face it the lazy boy a 65in tv for 6 bucks a month beats the end zone seat every time.
Me I liked my sideline seating on the 50 with a chair back and would pay extra if they’d just leave it there. But most of those sitting around me would not.
