Falcons must love to sit around in Flowery Branch and look at the impressive offensive numbers....their kicker is putting up. He leads the league in scoring. He is 32/33 in field goals, including 7/7 from 50+. His one miss was in the 40s. He is 23/26 in PATs. He doesn’t have any attempts under 20 and just eight in the 20s. So they aren’t even getting close to the end zone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk "So they aren’t even getting close to the end zone." So awfully true.

Only the Falcons could make Phil Niekro’s death the second saddest sports story in Atlanta.

LOL.
I'm glad I turned that game on. I needed some comedy. That was the most Falcons thing I've seen since the Superbowl.

Falcons are (currently) set to pick 4th in the Draft. If you were GM, do you go with a QB to be the heir to Matty Ice, do you draft an OL to protect Ryan and your QB of the future, or do you trade down and stockpile picks?
Unless they somehow managed to get their hands on Trevor Lawrence (which should be impossible at No. 4, unless we arm wrestle the Jags for him) I'm leaning heavily toward the last option. The Falcons need serious help.

I saw a story about Urban Meyer saying a couple NFL teams have contacted him. I wonder if the Falcons are interested. I don’t see them keeping the interim guy, although he was an improvement over Quinn.

You would have to be stupid to hire Urban Meyer unless you plan on winning within 1-2 years because he will "retire" on you.

Dont do Justin Fields but if you aint winning championship you need a different QB, LT and DEs.

Dont do Justin Fields but if you aint winning championship you need a different QB, LT and DEs. They need a lot of “different” that’s for sure. Sooo much money tied up in Ice & Julio, it’s crippling. Plus Julio usually spends several games on the sidelines with some sort of injury.

OL is by far not the biggest weakness on the team, so QB might be the wise pick, but after Lawrence, I don't like any of these guys (including Fields) this high in the draft. Fields has amazing talent, but makes poor decisions. Zach Wilson reportedly has personality issues, even being described as an entitled, spoiled brat in some articles. That said, the QB class runs deep this year, and at least a few high quality prospects will be around long after the 4th pick.
Kyle Trask, Mac Jones, or even the ungulate Trey Lance might be possibilities late in the 1st or somewhere in the 2nd round.
With the right moves, I think the Falcons could get their QB of the future, while still addressing some far more critical needs, like DL, CB, and RB with some added picks.
Caveat: My NFL GM skills are notoriously awful. I'm mainly posting this so I can come back and laugh at my suggestions in a couple years.
