I know this news will ruin some “fans” week, but here goes.
The team won 2 of 3 games against UCA in the just completed weekend series.
That moves the Gamecocks to within 1 game of 2nd place in the Western Division and just 2 games out of 1st in the Conference, strengthening our chances to make the ASUN tournament with one weekend to go in the regular season.
Go Gamecocks!!!

I was going to post a witty retort.
Instead I will post this…
23-27
13-17 at home.
Fans blame the coaches in their third consecutive losing season and aren’t happy that the program with multiple national championships is performing this way. Fans want better for the student athletes. Fans recognize that we have the 9th best record in the conference.
We aren’t rooting against our team. We would love for Jim Case to suddenly remember how to coach and win everything… we just don’t believe it will happen because past results are indicative of future success. Case is a .540 coach. We want .700+

Fans don't want a championship caliber program to be "in contention to make the tournament."
We want the program to be in contention to win the championship.
There's a difference.

TRUE GAMECOCK FANS support The Gamecocks WIN LOOSE OR DRAW.
Reminds me of basketball season when some were questioning Ray Harper. NOBODY likes to loose. That's a given. It's just knee jeck reaction to call for someone's job. I don't have blinders on but there is a point of reason. Might work on message boards and talk shows but that's about the only place. It's easy to brag when you are winning. It's hard to support through tough times.

Everyone that takes time to register for this site support JSU.
I am so tired of people questioning someone's motivations for saying a particular coach needs to move on (or be moved on).
We aren't running a charity that supports coaches who are good people even if they're not producing results.
Now, we can debate if Case has built up enough cred to have a couple bad seasons forgiven.
If someone is of the opinion that it's time for him to go, that doesn't mean they aren't a "true fan" or not supporting JSU.
I heard all this crap on the old old board before we let Crowe go. Same on here with Grass.
These are professional coaches who are paid, at the end of the day, to win games. If they can get up and say something nice at the FCA prayer breakfast, then good for them. But my God, stop with the nonsense.
Our loyalty should always be to what's best for the particular program, not people.

TRUE GAMECOCK FANS support The Gamecocks WIN LOOSE OR DRAW. I don't believe anyone has called for the Gamecocks to have their scholarships yanked and be cast out of Jacksonville. Several of us have expressed a wish that Coach Case retire, or, if he's not willing to do so, that JSU make a tougher choice. None of us on this forum -- NONE, whether we support Case or not -- have withdrawn our support for the Gamecocks, win, lose, or draw.

I think everyone would love it if we made it to Omaha, even if that meant Case got an extension.
Firing James Green was easy because he was a horrible coach.
Jack Crowe wasn’t horrible, but he wasn’t progressing past a 6-5 average season. He had his supporters and I’m sure people looked at his winning record and were satisfied. Ole Miss bought him some time but he needed to go.
John Grass was better than Crowe. He won the OVC every year and made it to Frisco. And no, he wasn’t doing it with Clark’s players. Clark never had a full recruiting class that was truly his. Might as well credit Crowe while you’re at it. But outside of that, we had a bunch of first round exits. He did well but wasn’t getting us to the next level. Moving to FBS, we needed a change. But as the seconds counted down in his last game, I was on my feet clapping for Grass.
Moving to a tougher conference means the baseball program needs to step it up. A new coach is part of it.

Isn’t it “interesting” that some of the same people who frequently criticize others (coaches) by name are the most thin skinned when they perceive ANY level of criticism might be directed at them, even though it is not by name.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Arguably your best post ever in terms of hitting the nail on the head. The attacks on fans who are disappointed with losing seasons is baffling. It is a more accurate statement to say that someone clinging to a coach in decline is not a true fan than to make that claim about those who want to upgrade the coaching staff. Rewording it would be to say “True Gamecock fans shouldn’t want to have winning seasons and championships. If you are a true fan you support coaches who don’t put our players in a position to be successful.” Baffling…

You all are baffling to me.
And grass and Clark won off Crowe’s recruiting.
In baseball we’re not talking about a losing coach but actually a good coach. Anyone can see a reason to keep him or a reason to move along. Just because you fire your coach and hire another doesn’t mean your gonna win more in fact far too often it has the opposite result.
And this whole thing about who is a fan. Is retarded.

I just want to know what's our excuse now if we dont not win the conference? The stadium has been built, either get better or leave.

Baseball qualifies for ASUN tournament. Damn. Hope we get run ruled twice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I mean I'd like for the team to do well. If they go on a run, that'd be great. Highly unlikely, but would be great. What tickles me is those who hold us backing our way into the conference tournament with a losing record as some type of almighty accomplishment.

PLEASE explain to me how we backed into the conference tournament with a 19-11 conference record?
