It's good to see fans coming back to EKU games.
I'm kind of surprised NCAT's attendance isn't any better than 12K.
If KSU wants to be in CUSA, they need to expand that stadium or build a new one. It's that simple. But with JSU leaving, they'll have a hard time filling the one they have.

The HBCU's seriously know how to be FANS!!!! They show out on the grilling, tailgating, and they make it a family affair. They should be applauded for doing it right!

Students are hyped for the KSU tailgating but never go to the games, that's sorta the deal there.

We didn't overwhelm their capacity, not even close.

We didn't overwhelm their capacity, not even close. True. But JSU fans weren't exactly filled with passion about the Gamecocks' season at that point. Sure, we'd beaten FSU, but we'd also been blown out by UAB, barely beat UNA, and blown a lead (and the game) at home against UTM. The Owls were 3-1, ranked No. 20, and had already proven themselves to be Grass's Waterloo. Casual Gamecock fans weren't exactly motivated to watch us drop another one. (I'm not calling them good fans. I'm just saying more JSU fans would've come if the team had been performing better.) Official attendance (which as we all know is the single most reliable statistic in all the universe) was 7,476, or about a thousand shy of capacity. A few weeks later, the Owls drew a standing-room-only crowd of 9,556 to watch them beat NCAT. (Most of those were probably Aggie fans.) No other home game came close to these two.

Our seats were on the 50, right behind the bench. If I recall there were several comments on the board after the game about the lack of energy from the team. No sideline coaching going on, seemingly no sense of urgency, just a general lack of fire. A little depressing to watch.

Well if I know anything about Rich Rod it's that you won't be without a lack of fire on the sideline this year.

I'm guilty of selling my JSU tickets last year after watching the performances of the games prior. I actually left at halftime during a game for the first time in almost 20 years because it was obvious that no one had a clue on the field. I hope that's all past us.

In my suite we had a rule you had to take a sip of bourbon whenever we jumped or lined up offside. It was a fun season. I hope we are stone cold sober this year.
