So I'm on my way back from Kinnick. Can someone give me the Sparknotes? I see the offense didn't have the ball very long. Could we just not stop the triple? Could. Not. Stop. The. Triple. That is all.

Other than not stopping the TO, how'd we look?
I see 6 flags on us for 45 yards and we went 9/20 passing.

“Could. Not. Stop. The. Triple. That is all.” “We still haven't figured out how to play defense against teams like this.” “As for the JSU game, you didn't miss much. Couldn't get them off the field, but luckily they didn't score much.”
As always, this is the SSS. Do you not understand the DEFENSE did what was necessary to win the game by 18 points - THAT IS THREE SCORES!
“We couldn’t stop them,” then how did they score only 17 points? “Couldn't get them off the field, but luckily they didn't score much.” Why didn’t they score much? Well DUH, because we stopped them & took the ball away.
Some people would gripe about free ice cream.

You don’t stop a TO offense just just try to slow it down. The defense has to make 3 plays every snap. Seems like our scheme was a little soft on the weak side edge.
Offensively, last week we saw why Webb should be the starter. This week we saw why he shouldn’t. He’s a winner. I’ll say that.
Davidson was a much better team than we saw 2 years ago. Jax State is a little undersized up front and seemed hesitant at times.

Jax State is a little undersized up front and seemed hesitant at times. I think those of us who are a bit disappointed feel as we do in part because Davidson is a non-scholarship program. That isn't to say they have no talent. Some of their players were offered scholarships at other schools or transferred there from scholarship programs for whatever reason. That said, the talent differential between us was substantial. The physical build of the players was noticeably different, yet we didn't control the line on either side of the ball. The turnovers/takeaways weren't all strips or forced errors. There were a couple where Davidson just dropped the ball. We were in position to recover it, but we didn't force it... so I am not going to hold that as an indicator of defensive performance. I am more worried about the fact that we gave up 233 yards rushing to a non-scholarship option team, and we have Kennesaw in a couple of weeks. They will be better at virtually every position on the field and if we don't show significant improvement, we will lose to them... again... and nobody wants that. Davidson was 10 of 17 on 3rd down and 2 of 4 on 4th down. We were 2 of 6 and 1 of 2. With 158 yards rushing, we didn't exactly gash them on the ground, which leaves me with concerns regarding our OL. Against SFA we looked like The Patriots on the line. Against Davidson, we looked pedestrian. We need improvement and consistency.

Not getting the ends sealed was worrisome. Also TOP for Davidson was 42 min to our 17 minutes. Gonna need more possessions and control the clock longer against KSU IMHO.

This camera crew is having a hard time keeping pace with RR's offense. Apparently they are on-loan from Tenn St. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We are 2-0 on the season. Our home opener had 18,000+ in attendance, making it one of the top in all of FCS for the weekend and outdrawing a number of Group of Five programs. Go Gamecocks!!!

There are more haunted stadiums in college football though.
