The truth is Jax St had played 2 bad FCS teams ( neither will come close to making the playoffs) and a non scholarship team in Davidson. Tulsa is a decent Group of 5 team and the game was not remotely competitive. Long, long way to go and I know it is Rich Rod’s first year. I just question whether the resources are available to do this the right way. Troy and UAB have deeper pockets. Guess time will tell. I thought we would do better in this game... yeah, Tulsa won a bowl game last year, but they went 7-6 and lost to UC-Davis last year, so they're not some great team we should get blown out by. I do wonder sometimes how we are going to compete financially with UAB, Troy, and South Alabama. UAB has a $35 million athletic budget, USA has a $32 million budget, Troy has a $31 million budget. JSU is half of that.... we have a $16 million budget. I'm sure going to CUSA will boost us some, but there's no way it's going to bump us up $15 million to match out in-state peers. A closer to home (CUSA) question is, what is Liberty's athletic budget?

Yeah it sucked for sure but-
Tulsa quarterback Davis Brin, the national leader for FBS passing yards per game, threw for 424 yards and four touchdowns while receiver Keylon Stokes, ranked second nationally in yards per game, recorded his third straight 100-yard effort with 153 yards as the Golden Hurricane improved to 2-1 overall.

Our budget will go up quite a bit with just the new scholarships being included. Not much real money spent but it will look big on the budget.
