Rich Rod says that Webb is the best QB. That's very evident from what we've seen too. I'm hoping they're out there recruiting a QB that can compete against FBS teams because otherwise we're straight up screwed. MTSU and WKU aren't going to roll over on QB runs like Davidson.

He keeps pumping up Te'Sean but we've only seen him throw like two passes all season. Maybe we could pick up Kyle McCord in the portal lol

Smoot can only play 4 games without giving up the redshirt. He’s already played 1 game. Look for him to be on the field the next 3 weeks.

Yeah, Smoot's good, but if we blow his redshirt on a meaningless FCS season, it wouldn't make much sense. By preserving that RS, he'll have four full seasons at the FBS level ahead of him. McLaughlin already used his redshirt at NC State, so he's operating as the No. 2 guy this season. He hasn't been asked to do much at all, which makes me think he's not viewed as the "QB of the future", despite his 4 stars. This points to Smoot looking better in practice. McLaughlin is probably destined to be Smoot's backup. (This is just an observation looking in from outside. I could be totally wrong.) We DO need a deeper QB room. Not more bodies -- we have plenty -- but more depth. I'd be shocked if we didn't sign another high-end prospect in this class, whether from high school, JUCO, or the Portal.
