I watched for a while, did not what I was watching, but I watched. It's tough to watch the live streams when there's no commentary and the scoreboard is (usually) unreadable. And that's before even factoring in the various rules at each tournament, some of which change day to day. (I never knew bowling was so complicated until I watched my first JSU tourney.) All I know for sure is, every stinking one of those ladies would squash me like a bug at the game of bowling. A couple of them are scary good.

Is there play by play and a color man Not on the Facebook livestream. It's just a cell phone set up behind the players so you can see the two lanes of Jax State and their match opponent. Sometimes you can view the scoreboard in the bowling alley's monitor, but most of the time, it's too blurry to read. Even then, the tournament standings are *usually* not visible. It's not totally worthless -- you can see the ladies and their opponents bowling and keep track of the pins yourself if you're motivated -- and is surprisingly entertaining to watch. But you do have to know what you're in for. It's not even to the level of an ESPN3 stream. It's not a "broadcast" at all. It's more like a fan video.

Bottom.line is the same for all three... Knock down the pins!

Over half of the team has already graduated? One of the other two is a senior. Hope the coach is out recruiting high schools and the transfer portal.

No home games, because no on campus bowling lanes? Are there any planned? If memory is correct some had asked for bowling lanes to be included in the Rec Center but leadership at the time was against bowling.

A couple years before the rec center a questionnaire was circulated amongst the student body asking for input about what to build and a bowling alley was not what students wanted.

They had a match against UAB at the start of the season at the complex in Oxford.

Do any bowling teams host matches on campus? It looks likes all of these have been held at commercial bowling allies.

The preseason exhibition match against UAB was a test run of the Big Time Entertainment lanes. I think the team plans to host at least one tourney next year.
But yeah... most bowling tourneys are held at commercial alleys. The biggest disadvantage (such as it is) for Jax State is that there's not a commercial alley in Jacksonville proper. But Oxford's not that far away, and it's a great location: that's where the hotels are, and it's right off the interstate. Should be easy to get a lot of good teams in.

It was important we find our lane in CUSA, which is seriously starting to look like the SEC of bowling. (No exaggeration.) Looks like we went strong and picked up the 7-10 split on this hire. Grading my preseason comments on a pass or fail scale: On the importance of finding our lane - PASS. It may be a "minor" non-revenue sport, but it's an NCAA-sanctioned minor non-revenue sport. Any time you add one of those trophies to your trophy case, you've done something special. CUSA: "the SEC of bowling" - FAIL. CUSA is even better than that. Evidence: the Bowling Final Four. On the quality of the coaching hire - PASS. Now, I just hope we can keep the O'Keefes in Jacksonville for a long, long time. So how did I do? Meh... as Meat Loaf once said, "Two outta three ain't bad." CONGRATULATIONS, GAMECOCKS!!
