We just landed a former 3-star WR from the Portal.
Dallan Wright (WR, 6-1, 177, Saluda, S.C., Saluda HS/Virginia Tech)
Wright redshirted his freshman year in 2020, then never saw the field in 2021. He was sidelined for the season with an injury in 2022. He's got three years of eligibility remaining.
Here's his high school recruiting bio:
Rich Rod is hosting his Portal/Post-Grad Camp on May 30, so we should see a few more Portal transfers coming our way in another week or two.

Feels very pass reliant offensively.

Feels very pass reliant offensively. Don't forget our RB room is still stacked. (That said, I sure would love to see us sign some linemen and maybe a QB-eating edge rusher or two...)

Defensive lineman. Hopefully, the summer camps will help. Or maybe CRR and staff feel we have what we need and are content. With the step up on competition, I honestly don’t know what are position weaknesses are, but they will be obvious in about 100 days!

Everybody has good skill guys, you win with O line and D line. This holds true at all levels.
Few exceptions are the real fast guys in pee wee and the special skill guy at small schools (these dont win championships without good linemen).

I know it's D-II, but damn... his receiving stats are off the charts. It's no wonder he was a Harlon Hill finalist, among other honors:
• 2022 Harlon Hill Trophy Finalist • 2022 AFCA First Team All-American • 2022 AP First Team All-American • 2022 CCA First Team All-American • 2022 D2football.com Elite 100 Team • 2022 Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American • 2022 CCA First Team All-Region • 2022 MEC Offensive Player of the Year • 2022 All-MEC First team • 2022 NCAA Statistical Champion: Receiving Yards Per Game (161.2) • 2022 NCAA Statistical Champion: Receptions Per Game (9.3)
Here are his stats from his senior year at Concordia University:
6 receptions; 96 yards; 1 TD; Long 25 4 receptions; 52 yards; 1 TD; Long 25 9 receptions; 206 yards; 1 TD; Long 67 13 receptions; 221 yards; 1 TD; Long 31 5 receptions; 50 yards; 0 TD; Long 17 16 receptions; 186 yards; 2 TD; Long 41 10 receptions; 132 yards; 3 TD; Long 34 7 receptions; 130 yards; 2 TD; Long 55 9 receptions; 259 yards; 3 TD; Long 59 15 receptions; 229 yards; 3 TD; Long 65 8 receptions; 212 yards; 1 TD; Long 58
I don't normally get excited about D-II transfers, especially at a position of depth. But man... I'm kind of excited about this one.

Wow. Galban can be Thing 1 and Bowie can be Thing 2. Can you imagine defenses trying to cover these Two at the same time?

Wow. Galban can be Thing 1 and Bowie can be Thing 2. Can you imagine defenses trying to cover these Two at the same time? Or just send them deep every play and swap them out to keep them fresh. (Bowie runs a 4.4.) Opposing DBs would be exhausted.

Just landed a transfer DB from WKU.
Travis Collier (DB, 6-1, 200, Douglasville, Ga., Douglas County HS/Western Kentucky Univ.)
He mainly only saw the field on special teams at WKU, but he's still very "young" in football years, with 3 full years of eligibility remaining:
2020 - 5 games, COVID year, so he retains his freshman year. 2021 - Redshirted, no action. 2022 - Played in 4 games as a redshirt freshman.
He's fast as heck (self-reported 4.4 "legit" speed) and was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school. Lots of upside with this one.
