The Birmingham area Whataburgers have really gone downhill the past few years. I hope they can get it together. If they're going to keep the location open 24 hours they will be a huge hit.

Yet to understand the Whataburger craze, taste like Burger King to me. Then most of the fast food chains have similar taste in their category.

Not Whataburger but both Raising Cane and Zaxby's founders worked for Guthrie's. Explains the sauce at both places.

Guthrie’s holds a special place for me as I ate there a lot when I lived in Tuscaloosa, but I prefer Raising Cane’s for the quality of the food and Zaxby’s for the menu options - their nuclear wing sauce is actually quite warm.

Panda Express says “hey!” They along with mall food stalls are really the only true Chinese fast food shops unless you’re counting the eleventy-bajillion takeout places.

The first time I had a Whataburger (Montgomery, I think) I wasn't just less than impressed... I was less than unimpressed. It was awful.
Then I was with a big group of folks who went to the beach together, and everyone wanted to stop at Whataburger in Florida (forget the town) and so I ate there again since I had no choice.
And it was flippin' magical. One of the best burgers I've ever eaten (outside Jacksonville).
I mean, the two experiences weren't remotely similar. Polar extremes. I don't get it. Whataburger needs some quality control or something.

Whataburger needs some quality control or something. That’s been my experience too. Whataburger in Mississippi was amazing and I wanted to go back. In Springfield Missouri I never went back. Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. is similar I think… I’ve seen them get a lot of hate, but the Carl’s Jr. in Lippo Mall Puri in Jakarta is fantastic. There’s McD’s, BK, A&W, DQ, and a number of other burger places within a 5 minute walk. Carl’s Jr. Is consistently the best.

That guy couldn't run a restaurant for anything. I worked there for about six weeks before being let go because they "the closing manager didn't like the way I worked." Then the closing manager turned around and stole $300 from the register. Dude called me and asked me to work for cash. What a shit show.

Yamato and Effina's have survived there at that intersection a long time.
