There have been a number of threads go off of the rails recently because of either posters being excessively negative, or others preemptively attacking them for past issues of negativity.
Both are equally faulty.
I speak as someone who has been posting on and moderating forums since the BBS days of the 80's, and usenet forums of the 90's. If someone is legitimately a troll and you respond to them, you are guilty of feeding the trolls. If you perceive them as a troll and respond to them, you are feeding the trolls. Don't feed the trolls. Most of the issues/conflicts that have arisen recently would not have happened if those feeding the trolls simply ignored them.
Please take the time to review the forum rules. While not explicitly stated, personal attacks are also not allowed. We will not allow this forum to devolve into constant bickering and personal attacks. We can and have messaged posters who crossed the line, and while we don't like issuing temporary or permanent bans, we will do so if necessary to maintain civility on the forums. That applies to both trolls and to those who are feeding them.
Thank you for your cooperation and Go Cocks!

I completely agree that in individual instances the best course of action is to not respond and feed a troll. However, when it becomes evident through multiple threads and scores of posts that someone IS a troll, wouldn’t the best course of action be to temporarily or permanently ban the troll? Just saying…. Onefansopinion I think everyone's opinion has been stated, there's no reason to rehash it with every post. At some point you too are trolling. Simply posting to argue more. The best course seems to let it die and ban those who insist on revisiting the same BS. Even your new post is a attempt at poking the dead horse. So please let it lie.
