Rich Rod wants this built. Someone once told us that since Rich Rod makes $800K to lead this program, and none of us on this message board do, we shouldn't question him or his decisions. Not questioning the coach about his WANTS, but JSU doesn't need to spend $10 million on this project right now. I want us to have top notch everything, but don't have $10 million to make it happen. If I did this would be on the list, but not at the top. We have other needs. We need all of it. Football facility, practice facility, stadium improvements, NIL. I don't think most of our fan base understands what it costs to fund a competitive FBS program. CRR does. It's understandable that we can't do it all at one time and we can argue about what should be done first, but it is all needed. Winning does not happen at this level without significant investment. I define winning as winning conference championships consistently and improving our standing to be considered for better conferences. Does anyone think we can do that without these types of investments? Sprout is correct that we have other needs but I would put big stock into what order CRR thinks we need these things. If any of you have run a major college football program before, I would consider that your opinion has more value than CRR.

Schools like Alabama and Auburn the NIL will be important, schools like us UAB and Troy facilities will still play a major factor into recruiting. Alabama stadium honestly is perfect and needs nothing else for the next 10 years, but Bama definitely needs a QB for next season so that’s where NIL will play a major factor.
JSU needs this to be indoors, wouldn’t build it unless it’s indoors, which will be in the 25 mill range. Stadium has to be top priority right now as it’s 1/4 of an FBs stadium. Field house, old home side, scoreboard, then indoor facility.

Also, we need to think about investing is a fg net on the student section side because I'm in a wheelchair and constantly getting hit, regardless of how far I move

Pretty good view from there. Ps I just heard CRR suggesting the student section would be move behind the visiting team. Wku press conference video.

I think some of you are delusional about the true financial position of this university.

For $10 million? Because UAB has one? How many days did it rain practice out in Sep? I don't even know if it rained in Sep. Is our entire Athletic budget more than $25 million, yet? Someone fact check this: Practices are less than three hours each. Four or five days a week for about 20 weeks, more for CFP teams. Do the math with number of hours of practice that were rained out. This is a want not a need. Put the $10 million toward something needed! Rich Rod wants this built. Someone once told us that since Rich Rod makes $800K to lead this program, and none of us on this message board do, we shouldn't question him or his decisions. I don't know of anyone official with that opinion - though there are a few random posters who will attack anyone who second guesses a coach. There are times when it is the logical and rational thing to do. Everyone knew it was time for a change in baseball but some went into attack mode if it was suggested. We all knew it was time for a change in basketball when Green had 7 losing records in 8 seasons (there was a tiny minority suggesting Green get another season). Last season wasn't good, but I still trust Harper and don't question him. Captain Jack was well past his sell-by date when we canned him and we got pretty well trashed for it "who are they going to get?!?" only to have CBC lead us to the third round of the playoffs in his first year. The program had slipped under Grass, and there were some defending him and attacking anyone who questioned him - but it didn't stop us from doing it. Coach RR is the same as any other. His experience and track record buys him a lot of leeway. I don't question him on much as I can't claim to know remotely close to what he knows... yet if he starts making stupid decisions, we will question. On something like an indoor practice facility, it is needed if we want to be competitive. The same people complaining about spending the money on it will be the same ones wanting to tar and feather HCRR if we have poor recruiting that leads to poor results.

UAB's "indoor" facility was built on the cheap, and it's adequate for their position as a G5 university.
JSU's plans are based on theirs.
We're not going to build anything remotely as nice as what they have at Bama, UGA, or Auburn, unless we have some very deep-pocketed alumni who have been keeping their purses zipped shut up til now.
I know I refuse to give anything to this university because they fired Crowe, who was one of our most successful coaches ever, and then they fired Green, who was as good as we can ever hope for in basketball, and they fired that soccer coach that one time... I forget her name... and because Greg Seitz is a Yankees fan... and because the Southerners don't march out of the end zones anymore... and they have black on their uniforms... and finally, because I had to watch a game on Tuesday last week, and just found out I have to watch one on Tuesday THIS week too.
O.M.G.
We should've never left the Gulf South Conference.
Crap. Sorry about that, guys. My SARCASM key was stuck...

Ps I just heard CRR suggesting the student section would be move behind the visiting team. Wku press conference video. It was that way when I was a freshman. It got pretty interesting especially with the Southerners when they faced the old home side straight on. I remember the EIU game specifically. I remember we swapped sidelines shortly after, I believe at the request of the OVC? That was the rumor.

One more reason to hate the OVC, I s'pose. It just occurred to me, there was a similar situation in hoops. Not sure if that was the OVC or the NCAA, but they forced us to move the pep band away from the visitors bench. I wanna say that was pre-OVC though, so maybe it was the NCAA. Seems like Turgeon may have been coach then.

I personally understand why and it was for the right reasons. As far as Hard Corps, I wouldn't be surprised if they are forced to move. They are a home court advantage and have even taken a shot or two for their school spirit!

Clone tours seems to do a lot with central southeastern schools. Keep in mind a bus used on Fri Sat and Sun for football may have a basketball team on Mon and Tues,. Then n a soccer team of Thursday and then another university for the weekend. To your need question: First need would be revenue positive like enough dorm space for all incoming freshman, scholarship students and those who receive grants. Second would be revenue neutral items then once our Endowment hit $xxxxxxxxx revenue losing items
