Heard this on Sirius XM Full Ride earlier this week….
As we already know, Jax State (6-2) is ineligible for the conference championship game and, by NCAA rule, ineligible for a Bowl Game this year. James Madison (7-0) is in the same boat, as they are also in their 2nd year of the FBS transition.
However NCAA rules DO allow for a 13th regular season game if it is played in Hawaii, The Bahamas, or Puerto Rico.
Our last game is on November 25th, but the regular season does not officially end until two weeks later with the Army/Navy Game on December 9th.
it was being proposed that Jax State play James Madison on the evening of December 9th as a regular season bowl game in the Bahamas.
Gotta love the idea. I even have a name for the game…..
The FU NCAA Bowl.

I think the rules actually state Alaska, Puerto Rico, or Hawaii and the game has to be against a school in said remote location, so Jax State v JMU wouldn't work.

Saw it mentioned on Twitter yesterday. Was talking about JMU playing JSU in Hawaii as a 13th regular season game. If it has to be against a host school, then it's a no go. Wonder why Alaska and Puerto Rico are mentioned when they don't have any FBS football schools.
My guess is that JMU will get a bowl game. The better JSU's record is the better they look. 9-3 would look good.

We can only go to a bowl if not enough qualify. JMU, barring a collapse, will likely have a better record than us and would probably get the call if only one spot is available.
I honestly can’t see the marketability of a bowl in Hawaii between us and JMU.

How many of our players would have a passport?
