Did anyone notice the condition of the field yesterday? The lines were really faded. The goal line was almost invisible. The stadium itself was very nice and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. FC The speakers were very loud! Halftime was a joke. The band was smaller than I thought it would be. I've never heard a soloist amped through the stadium speakers before, so that was interesting...

When we beat FSU, the post game call-in shows were mostly Seminole fans angry & frustrated over the loss, but complimentary & gracious of JSU. Contrast that with spending about 30 minutes watching a couple of SC call-in shows & it was 100% angry and frustration with their coaches & players in spite of the win, and 100% condescending & dismissive of JSU. The take was basically "how could SC from the mighty SEC almost lose to a high school team from CUSA." And I heard more than one moron say "they (Jax State) doesn't deserve to be called Gamecocks ".
I hope they get curb stomped in every game for the remainder of the decade.

Deep down they know that unlike FSU, they have no ability to turn it around and be undefeated and in the playoff conversation in a couple years.
Imagine if FSU had fired Norvell over that loss.

I mean, I've seen nothing but nice posts about us online. We had them on the ropes. Radio shows attract a special type of idiot.

I stopped for gas at a QT in Clinton, SC and an older gentleman walked by me, saw my JSU gear and said "hell of a game brother". Yes, yes it was.

SC football fans don't have very much to be proud of. The only titles the school has are the 2010 SEC East champions and the 1969 ACC champions. So when Steve Spurrier was honored at halftime, all he was really able to talk about was how his 2010 team was almost as good as that 1969 team. He then goes on to say before the entire stadium which was almost full of SC fans, that he considers himself "more of a gator fan" than a gamecock. OUCH!!!

I mean, I've seen nothing but nice posts about us online. We had them on the ropes. Radio shows attract a special type of idiot. Agreed on the special type of fan point. I watched the game with my son who lives in Charleston & works with several guys who are SC fans & he got a call from a couple during the game who were livid that we were being allowed to "hang" with an SEC team. It resulted in a discussion of various fan bases we had experience with over the years when I would take him to away games that I was shooting. We almost got into a fight with drunk Georgia Tech fans as we were making our way down from the press box to field level, who took offense at our JSU shirts, & it was still 15 minutes before kickoff! Kansas fans almost killed Cocky throwing full beer bottles at us. Their security actually escorted several out. After the FSU game (played in a monsoon) were we took them to the wire despite some bone headed play calling by Capt. Jack, an elevator full of fans were gushing over how we "played our hearts out" & wished us luck in the future. Bobby Bowden kept referring to us as "Troy" in his postgame interview, but it was unintentional. If I recall correctly, that was his last season coaching.

Im remember Bowden doing that on his radio show. I knew then it was time for him to go. If you can't even remember the name of the team that just beat your ass for 58 minutes, there is a problem.

Mississippi State's student section threw at least 1-2 bottles at the Southerners as we left the field at halftime in 2002. Classless.

I was weighing my college options and MSU gave us tickets as part of their preview day.

The only bad experience I ever had as a Southerner at an away game was a drunk lady at Memphis telling "Tigers eat Gamecocks" over and over at us.
As an adult, it was going to Southeastern Louisiana. Trash stadium and fans.

Our seats were next to a retired man that had season tickets. After the game we congratulated him on the win and wished them well for the remaining games. He was complimentary of our team and said “you need to find a quarterback that is consistent.” My reply was “we’ve been saying that all season.”
