Our seats were next to a retired man that had season tickets. After the game we congratulated him on the win and wished them well for the remaining games. He was complimentary of our team and said “you need to find a quarterback that is consistent.” My reply was “we’ve been saying that all season.” FC If we had a Kaidon Salter-type player at QB, we would've not only embarrassed South Carolina, but the entire SEC. The game would've been out of hand by halftime. We don't necessarily need an NFL 1st rounder running things... he just needs to be strong and consistent enough that he's getting LOOKS from the NFL. Zion's been a good QB for us, and he's definitely improved as the season has progressed, but no one's mistaking him for an NFL prospect. Barring any Portal signees, I think there's a better than average chance we start a true freshman or a redshirt freshman next year over anyone on the current two-deep. Frye and/or Smoot may end up ahead of Smothers.

Embarrass the entire SEC? Pump the breaks. That is a ridiculous statement.

Embarrass the entire SEC? Pump the breaks. That is a ridiculous statement. No pumping of the brakes needed. Allow me to explain: I didn't say JSU would've beaten the entire SEC. I said we would've beaten South Carolina so badly it would've embarrassed the entire SEC. If South Carolina had lost to Jax State in a close one, it would've embarrassed the Lesser Nation. SEC Shorts, SEC Roll Call, and Funnymaine would've had a field day with it. But if Jax State had beaten the Lessers by multiple TDs, it would've made those jokes turn toward the SEC as a whole. "Oh, God... A team not named Vandy or Florida just got rolled by a G5. Are our days of dominance finally at an end?" Suddenly, the Big Ten's YouTubers would join the pile-on. "Hey UGA! About that strength of schedule..." It would've been an embarrassment to the entire conference. If you don't understand this, then you don't understand the fragile nature of P5 egos.

I get what you are saying- but South Carolina is not a very good Power 5 team. Hell, take away the fumble before half time and brain dead call/ pick 6 at the end and Jax St wins any way. The SEC overall could care less about South Carolina overall- especially this season. Liberty would beat them by 10 or more.

The SEC overall could care less about South Carolina overall- especially this season. Liberty would beat them by 10 or more. Again... I wasn't talking about merely winning the game. I was talking about beating the pants off of em. South Carolina is having a rough year, but they're not given the latitude of Vanderbilt. "That's OK, Commodores. You may have lost by 21 to ULM, but we know you're still winners in the classroom!" South Carolina losing to a transitional team would only be embarrassing to South Carolina fans. South Carolina getting monkey-stomped by a transitional team would embarrass everyone. I think you think I'm saying, "JAX STATE IS SO AWESOME WE'D HAVE THE SEC TREMBLING IN FEAR!!!" and that's totally not what I'm saying at all. Embarrassment doesn't mean lil Nicky Saban would be calling Rich Rod for coaching advice. It means the SEC would be thinking, "Hey, ACC or Big Ten... is there any way we can trade the Lessers away for a team to be named later? We'd rather not call them our conference mates any more." I don't know why this is hard to understand.

South Carolina is in the SEC for the same reason Missouri is, they needed a warm body at the time to go with who they really wanted.
