How did Troy lose that many kids? More competition for online classes. That's a guess, but it's the best I've got. I don't believe they've lost a whole lot of on-campus students.

Once there was competition for online learning, only the most desperate chose pike county correspondence school.

What is the definition of enrollment? I am sure, similar to attendance, each schools numbers mean something different. Does it include High Schoolers taking an AP class? What about those summer sports camps? What about those non-credit "continuing ed" classes? What about the student that takes one online class in the summer because their "home" school does not offer it for another year? Naturally we all read this and assume it is full-time students, but.....?

Coukd be wrong and just dreamed it in my head, think I read somewhere a student to be counted must be at least 12 hours.
troy state started a few years back counting all campuses as one. I assume it helped with state funding.
uab is the one which shocked me, never understood why someone would want to go to college downtown.

Wonder how many years it will take us to get to 10K? Our fall 2023 enrollment was 9,672. We lost out on some students because of lack of available housing. With a 500+ bed dorm currently under construction and scheduled for completion well before fall 2024, along with several other smaller housing options coming on lineā¦.There is a strong possibility we break the 10,000 mark next fall.

Simply based on individual cases I know of. JSU has been bending over backwards to offer scholarships and college credit for HS classwork to Ga students. I wonder how many students it takes to equal one student nowadays.

I'd like to see how these numbers were generated.
