Just a comment, The Star has done a better job covering JSU this year. May be the best coverage JSU has ever gotten and this is during tough times for newspapers.
Anyways wanted to give a shout out for the effort.

I just wish the podcast was consistent. Never know when they are going to do an episode...

Anyways wanted to give a shout out for the effort. They've also put a good amount of Gamecock content outside the paywall this year. (Not all of it by a longshot, but enough for me to notice.) Kudos to whomever realized what we've been saying to them (and other newspapers) for a couple of decades now: no one in Columbia, S.C. wants to pay to read your coverage of Jax State. No one in Jacksonville wants to pay to read local coverage of UTEP and NMSU. Make it free, collect the ad revenue. You can keep your local news protected behind the paywall and still make the same amount of money. Probably more. Speaking of media... East Alabama Sports Today (which was founded by Musky, who was no friend of JSU athletics) is now owned and operated by former Star reporter Joe Medley. He just announced in August that they've regained their JSU media credentials, so look for stories there as well. www.easportstoday.com/category/jsu-college-sports-coverage-2/If you go to the E.A.S. site, there's currently 4 pages of JSU content. Only the last two are from the post-Musky era. You can spot the difference in the headlines and tone of the coverage: Medley 2023: "A Dreamer's Day - With signs of progress all around, Jacksonville State...." Musky 2014: "Failed drug tests compromised JSU defense" I can't imagine why they lost their press credentials under the old guy...

Has Medley finally decided that it's ok for us to play Power 5 opponent without fear of injury? I don't think I will ever forget that ridiculous take. All in all though, he is better than Musky.

Musky would often sit with various Sports Info staff during meals at events such as away games, & while I got along with him pretty well, I definitely remember thinking more than once that he resented having to cover JSU.
