I really home Alumni Affairs is working on several contengecies for locations. Lodging, transportation, events etc. I hate to know they waited until the last minute to research. After Thanksgiving they will.only have two weeks to organize things for the alumni. If we know potential locations they should too!

Have you booked your hotel room yet? We don't even know we're bowling yet nor do we know where if we are. How would you make plans for a bowl game?

Have you booked your hotel room yet? We don't even know we're bowling yet nor do we know where if we are. How would you make plans for a bowl game? it is obvious that your background and my background are different. Hotel room!-----Not yet, but I have looked at the different possibilities based on what has been floated in the media and begun to.look at options for my small group. It is the lack of planning that leads to a bad result or no result at all. Worst case scenario---If we are to have any sort of Alumni function for a December 16th game, we are basically one month away...wait one of those weeks JSU is closed for Thanksgiving so that just leaves 3 weeks to find, and secure the places, get the word out and collect sums due, IF we know where we are going. With Bowl Selection on the 3rd of December you better have the plan worked out and begin implementing it. You should have plans for each option. While I am on a roll----We know we are going to Louisville next year. If the University of Alabama Alumni can take a charter bus from Cincinnati to Dallas with hotels, game tickets, etc on three weeks notice, surely JSU can do the something for Louisville. I never saw anything for South Carolina....... If we want Alumni support then make it easy for Alumni to support.

The bowl game won’t be known until after Thanksgiving. The bowl people will let us know what our ticket allotment is for the game and what hotels they have. Unless we are in Shreveport, every game we might go to is in a major city. There will be plenty of hotel rooms available for whoever wants to go so I’m not fretting over not finding a room.
I’m a grown man and can find my own way to wherever we go and don’t need the alumni association to hold my hand. I have been to Montgomery before. It’s not that hard.

If enough sign up to make it worth it, then roll. I'm talking for adults, not students although they could try one of those too. Other alumni associations do this like you said. It's so you don't have to worry about driving yourself and making arrangements. Louisville would be the perfect game to experiment with it because it's an easy ride up 65.

Would need to stop the charter bus by a few distilleries.

I don't know that I'd personally do this, but I have seen alumni associations at other schools do this sort of thing. It seems like Jax State has even done it in the past? You basically just package the game ticket (in the "official" university section) and bus ride together (as leeroy just said) and throw in an "Alumni Tailgate" at the event with pregame food and beverages provided. Everyone on the bus gets into the tailgate as part of the package. Alumni not riding the bus could buy a tailgate ticket on their own at the event. It winds up being $100-$200 per person, which isn't cheap, but once you factor in all that comes with it, it's a great deal. Kind of in line with the Club Level. The result is a big crowd of JSU fans (good) who don't have to deal with the stress of driving, lodging, or food (also good). Fans who would rather have the freedom to drive at their own pace, eat where they want, and stay at the hotel of their choice (or not) would still be able to do their own thing. The presence of the alumni charter would in no way hinder their ability to do this. I was actually kind of shocked Jax State didn't offer anything like this for the South Carolina game. But it should definitely happen for the Bowl Game and next season at Louisville.

I rode the Alumni bus to the Montgomery game one year. Won’t do that again.

Elaborate if you please. But I don't need anymore than 1 afternoon to find a hotel motel airbnb campground, of course the Biltmore might be booked, Whatever it is you require. I also don't need the alumni association to find my way to anyplace in this country. But perhaps we are from different background, my mother cut the apron strings long ago.

If things pan out, it looks like we have a 75% chance of playing on Dec 23rd and the other 25% would be Dec 16th.
