this is the same situation with our basketball -
UConn head coach Jim Mora on 2-9 record, lack of NIL support: 'if you’re not going to help us get the players to beat them, then you are not entitled to b!tch' 😳
“We’re a better football team with a worse record and that’s extremely frustrating, you know, because you see where the world is going...
So if we’re going to play those teams and people want us to beat Duke, NC State, Syracuse and Maryland and Wake Forest next year, then there needs to be a commitment monetarily to helping us get the players that can beat them.
Because if you’re not going to help us get the players to beat them, then you are not entitled to b!tch when we don’t beat them.”

When the game becomes about purchasing players and or players unions and contract negotiations. I will stop watching. If I wanted to see that I'd watch pro football.

Duke Football (now at aTm) head coach Mike Elko sent a warning to the College Football world regarding the Transfer Portal😳
"We’re probably about 13 days away from complete anarchy and the Wild West. It’s literally open free agency for all of college football…
I don’t know that anyone is immune to what is going on in the transfer portal. It just is what it is.
And you’ve got to put together a strategy to retain your players, and NIL is a big part of it.”

I love college ball. Sadly, I see the day coming - FAST - that I would rather ride my motorcycle or take a walk with my wife. NIL is killing the joy of the game. I stand with those that will just watch the overpaid professionals if I need a fix. It is sad....

The best conceivable outcome Is that the P5 will hurry up and leave, before they drag the G5 down a road they can't back up from and can't afford. The G5 has an opportunity to remain college athletics by separating from the semi pro league and retaining some semblance of amateurism.

I somewhat disagree, your better to be on the same plane even if its coach. If not then your not in their class even thou you have less money.

Yes, FCS all over again. Then we would be in a fight again to be invited back to the top level. Weve had more fan involvement since the FBS move than ever.

Yes, FCS all over again. Then we would be in a fight again to be invited back to the top level. Weve had more fan involvement since the FBS move than ever. True but a major reason for the move was so we weren't d2 now. Also how many millions are we gonna be able to spend to purchase quality recruits to be able to compete. This is likely what will separate us from others. The rich can and will rise to the top. What is the plan to generate millions a year to purchase/hire quality players and coaches? The alumni or corporate sponsors, What's gonna look like? Maybe we'll get an invite to the $EC or the B$G? The idea that we've joined the highest level is an illusion we're already in the second level. The difference would be that we'd (G5 or whatever) would have to choose to not bankrupt themselves over that illusion and to continue to play on the bcs level were on and not this new semi-pro league that's forming. If we can join a P5 conference then do I guess, but the G5 cannot perform with 20 million dollar budgets against 100 million dollar budgets when purchasing power is the deciding factor,

All practical purposes we are DII, now. FCS was DIII.
As of now the only type championship we could play for is the mythical G5 championship. Be the highest ranked G5 at the end. Could pull a UAT and claim as many as we want.
Dont see JSU playing the bigtime NIL game. Our life will be to get the players wanting to play FBS not good enough for Bama and Auburn but with a hard edge to prove some folks wrong.

There should be a g5 championship game and there will be when the A5 or whatever number takes their money and leaves.
