It is Tulane v SMU.
An SMU win probably puts CUSA Liberty in a NY6 Bowl. That would mean a nice payout for JSU.

The Ponies are up 14-7 at the half, & CBS pundits are suggesting if SMU wins, it should jump them over Liberty for a NY bowl. Liberty's undefeated but no games against a P5 team while SMU had good games (though both loses) against TCU & OK.

SMU will be in the Big 12 next season, so the “talking heads” are obviously going to be singing the praises of the P5.

Liberty gonna get the shaft. 133 SOS 😬 If SMU goes from unranked to ahead of ranked Liberty, with Liberty winning their conference championship game by two touchdowns over a team that a couple of weeks ago blew out a bowl eligible SEC team (Auburn), then they absolutely will have been shafted.

Liberty non-conference:
1. Bowling Green 2. @ Buffalo 3. ODU 4. UMass
Liberty's best wins are NMSU and JSU. ------------ SMU's best wins are at Memphis and at Tulane. Lost @oklahoma and @tcu.
Should be a good debate.

Liberty gonna get the shaft. 133 SOS 😬 Playing 2 bad MAC teams, ODU, and UMASS hurt. Not their fault because they had to scramble with the CUSA schedule, but it is what it is.

Liberty has no bad losses.
Liberty has no losses.
It can safely be argued that every single CUSA team this year was underrated. That 133 SoS is nowhere near accurate.
And playing a Top 25 team and losing by 17 points (as SMU did twice) in no way implies you are the best G5 team. It merely demonstrates you are undeserving of a Top 25 ranking.

There is a 100% chance Liberty receives the NY6 bowl bid for G5, this shouldn’t even be a debate.

Please tell me how the bottom five teams of CUSA could be underrated? FIU, SHSU, UTEP, La Tech and MTSU were very bad. Not saying that the bottom five of the AAC were any good either.

Liberty was supposed to play South Carolina before joining CUSA but we took that $1,300,000 off their hands.
