Cruising around the internet and bouncing from one thing to another, slipping down rabbit holes. For some reason I landed on Led Zeppelin and that lead to AC/DC. The next thing I know I came across this:

Half way through and I am saying "What the **** is this?" Little did I know I would replay it many more times. It's addictive. Never thought I would rock to an accordion, spoons, an anvil and open end wrench, banjo, bass fiddle, and a mandolin. Who knew?
This is Steve 'n' Seagulls, a Finnish hillbilly band that plays metal songs. They have been around almost ten years and I am just now finding them. What took me so long? I hope you have known about them already, I'm just glad that I found them. These guys are very talented, play multiple instruments, and the band is really tight. I have watched their YouTube live performances, and they are as good as their studio playing. They have been in the US several times and some of their videos were made over here. This Thunderstruck video is what got the ball rolling.
Thoughts? Comments?

I came across them probably about 8 years ago in a similar fashion. Just fell down one of those Youtube rabbitt holes. They are good. The internet is full of lots of bluegrass bands playing popular songs in a bluegrass style. Some better than others. I know Steve n Seagulls are not necessarily playing in a bluegrass style but they do use some of the same instrumentation.
When my son was first learning guitar, I took him to a bluegrass jam session because he admired the musicianship. They invited him to sit in - he was probably about 11 then. He said he really didn't know how to play bluegrass, so they asked him what he like to play. At the time, he was in to the Beatles, so they played Beatle songs so he could play along with them. Then the next day, I had to go buy a damn mandolin.
