It's our first year in CUSA. Let's not rush into firing coaches.
Our previous conference home was the ASUN, which currently has a women's NET average of 225, with the best team (FGCU) coming in at 62. Next up is UCA, way back at 142.
Our home before that was the OVC, and their women's NET average is a godawful 259. Their best team is Southern Indiana at 191.
CUSA's women's NET average currently stands at 187. The best team is MTSU, at 48.
The Gamecocks are currently ranked 284, just ahead of Sammy at 291. Is it good? No. And Pietri and staff need to improve on that. (No arguments there.)
But this same team would've been competitive in the ASUN, and would be in the middle of the pack (at least) in the OVC.
When you turn up the level of competition, you need to give your coaches at least a couple years to adjust. If Pietri and staff can't show some improvement over the next year or two, then they absolutely need to be shown the door. But year one in a tough new conference is not the time.

Love coach Pietri. I'll never forget the way he turned around the one-win team from 2012 and turned them into a team that took down Belmont on the way to the OVC tourney. I hope we can step our recruiting up, even looking at international talent. We're often undersized out there.
(Side note: He's one of the most animated coaches you'll ever see. I love the moments cameras catch him throwing a fit after a turnover or nearly spread out on the floor in frustration.)

No, we need to give Pietri at least a year to adjust. He's done a lot for us.
Also need to understand that it doesn't matter who the coach is if we are unwilling to fund the program competitively.

Agreed! if the expectation for them is to be competitive, then they need to have access to the tools needed to be competitive!

I kept having to remind myself that I was there to shoot the basketball action & not just the coaching action😁. jsuphoto.photoshelter.com/search/result/I0000rGeCgj0_QPw?terms=Pietrie&

I think he’s the right man for the job. We gotta get better overall as a girls program and we were much worse before he arrived
