Only a few of the older ones contributed much.
For real. 247 doesn't appear to update recruits' destinations once they sink down to FCS:
#1 Arjei Henderson (90 / 4-star and a former 5-star) - bounced around his commitment as a recruit, from Oregon to Oklahoma, before settling on Florida. He didn't have the grades to be enrolled, so he announced he was signing with JSU. Got his pic taken with Coach Sandlin and everything. Then fell off the face of the earth. Never even listed on the roster. He was sighted briefly at Blinn College, then vanished. He may have been abducted by aliens.
#2 Zamon Ross (84 / 4-star) - signed with JSU out of high school. Listed as an official 2021 NSD signee. Then abducted by aliens, just like Arjei.
#5 Shi'Kim Coward (88) - signed with JSU in February 2015. Abducted by aliens, fall 2015.
#6 Terrence Harris (87) - signed with Jax State in 2016 according to everyone but Jax State. Never appeared on a roster. Probably on that alien spaceship with everyone else.
That's four out of the Top 10 who never even appeared on a roster for Jax State. (I didn't list the ones who redshirted or played a year and then transferred.)
Out of the Top 10, it's easier just to list the ones who contributed/are contributing: Jayson Jones (participated in 19 games in 2021 and 2022), EJ Moss (49 games, 67 tackles, 18.5 TFLs, 6 sacks), Te'Sean Smoot (redshirted in 2022; #3/#4 backup QB in 2023).
The bottom 10 is just as sketchy. I'll say this, though. When they actually stick and play meaningful snaps, they're pretty darn good. Don't mistake this post as me saying I don't want them on the team. It's the recruiting services I have the problem with. This is just exhibit #30,403 of why I put no faith in stars.
