A friend and I were discussing the other day. First three are easy. Burgess, Abbott and Jones, but who would you put as the forth face? Names mentioned were Fuller, Mayfield, Stephenson, Salls, Pell, Roberson.

CRR is the first coach to win a bowl game in the schools first season in FBS McGinnis has taken a team to a super regional Harper has two NCAA tournaments Rifle has done some great things Bowling, first year and we dont look like rookies The measuring stick changes when you go DI so if it limited to four not sure we have any definite ones.
I hate these things because time changes lots of measurables and it not fair in many cases to compare.

The Women’s Gymnastics coach that gave Jax State the first (and second) National Championship in school history in 1984 and 1985. He stayed with JSU a few more years, then went to Auburn to coach their team. A senior moment keeps me from saying his name.

It's Coach McGinnis all the way. She's got over 1,000 wins, all at Jax State, won the OVC crown in 11/17 seasons, a street and the softball stadium bear her name and her basketball number hangs in The Pete.

Won 2 National Championships and then we shut the program down. Went to Auburn and coached their program for 13 more years.

THERE IS NO WAY TO HAVE A JSU MOUNT RUSHMORE and leave Charley Pell off.

Ooh. Forgot about Robert Dillard and the gymnastics teams. Two nattys for the women and two runners-up for the men during those years. That’s prolly gonna be my fourth. Hard to top a natty.

Motion to have three separate Mount Rushmores. One for D-II (and before), one for our D-I/I-AA/FCS era, and one for our D-I/FBS era.
Heck, we may need four, just so we can separate pre-D-II from D-II.
The FBS era should remain blank for a few more years, while things sort themselves out, but early contenders are Rich Rod (the bowl win) and Shannon O'Keefe (assuming our good luck continues). But for real... no FBS-era faces get etched in stone until we have a real pattern of success for several years. Or at least a natty or two. Year One is too early.
