I saw that TSU has built the biggest video board in the Sun Belt in baseball, and one of the largest boards in the nation.
Where the **** do they get the funds for this stuff? Is it because they have their own university system that collects athletic fees from students across all of their campuses or something?

What is their debt? Enrollment keeps going down, so it is hard to understand.

Maybe they can pay for it with the advertising dollars generated from the displayed signs. Do we sell advertising signs? I mean, the outfield fence is entirely bare. Seems like a source of revenue to me.

Troy has always had more money than Jax St. Not sure how or why outside of Wiley Sanders trucking.
I would be more concerned with the product on the field right now- these last 2 games have been ridiculously bad.
Losing to South Alabama 11-1 and getting out hit 17-3 at home by Kennesaw St and losing 8-2. That is horrible folks.

The KSU game is inexcusable, but USA is 7-1 right now, with that only loss coming at the hands of the Gamecocks. Remember we've got a new coach, folks. He's seems to be doing a good job rebuilding the program, but it's not like he picked up the reins of a championship team. Jax State has a combined record of 80-85 (.485) since 2021, and hasn't had a winning record since 2019. Even in the age of the Portal, we've got a long way to go. And as I shared in another post, it's not like our nonconference opponents are easy this season.

They actually have more than 9k students On the Troy campus? On the troy state campus in Troy, they had 5,772 students, plus 588 nursing students, who they count separately. In addition to this, they had 355 students at the Phenix City campus, 679 at the Dothan campus, and 354 at the Montgomery campus, to go along with 5,925 online-only students, 210 at their support sites, and finally, 787 on their international campuses, for a grand total of 14,679 students.

First of let me start off by saying I am a Troy grad and I bleed cardinal but a big Jax St fan also and have much respect for the school. Troy has a lot of donors that put forth a lot of money to the athletic department. Troy has been able to raise $10 million in donation to start the IPF. They push donations from the alumni hard and do everything they can for the betterment of all the athletics.

If you've been lurking for any amount of time, you've seen plenty of hate toward your alma mater. I can assure you, though, that hate is all out of love. In all seriousness, though, troy state's capital improvements since moving to FBS have been remarkable. We know about your larger donors (Richard Scrushy and HealthSouth back in the day, Wiley Sanders and a few others now) but beyond that, we've been left scratching our heads, mainly because our alumni bases are fairly similar across the board. (That's part of what made the rivalry so intense once upon a time.) Do you know if troy state charges an athletic fee to online students? How many NIL groups do you have? (Just one for every sport, or is football separate?) That seems to be one of the issues with JSU right now: our primary NIL organization is for football only, leaving basketball and baseball high and dry.

We do have an NIL collective called the www.trojanstogethercollective.com/ that covers all the the athletics. It is still in the beginning stages, but from what I heard it has had some success. As far as the rivalry goes, I was around back in the in the 90s, yes it was heated, but I know a lot of kids that in the past 10 years have graduated from JSU. They gave me a whole new perspective on the the school and have me a reason to root for JSU.
